Genius: Geoffrey Rush and Ron Howard Tease Albert Einstein's 'Complicated' Life, 'Young Lovers' — WATCH

Playing the titular Genius in NatGeo’s upcoming scripted Albert Einstein series “is one of the great parts,” star Geoffrey Rush says in this exclusive behind-the-scenes video.

And he should know: After all, the man has played Inspector Javert, the Marquis de Sade and Captain Barbossa.

The 10-part biographical series in which Rush stars follows the man who discerned the theory of relativity from his early days, focusing not only on his brilliant mind but also his conflicted, often harsh relationships with those closest to him.

Speaking of which, co-star Emily Watson (The Theory of Everything) remarks in the preview that Genius marks her third time playing Rush’s on-screen wife. “He’s my work husband,” she says, laughing — that’s also around the point that Einstein’s complicated private life and “young lovers” are brought up.

The video also features director/executive producer Ron Howard (Arrested Development, Apollo 13) talking about finding Johnny Flynn (the British comedy Lovesick) to play Einstein in his younger years.

Genius premieres Tuesday, April 25, at 9/8c. Press PLAY on the video above to get a stroke of Genius, then hit the comments: Will you watch?
