TV Reunions 2016

2016 in Review: Best Reunions — Friends, Firefly, Parenthood and More

Because nostalgia remains the one trend that will never go out of style, television addicts were blessed with a flurry of memorable small-screen reunions in 2016.

These reunions came in many forms: The casts of Friends and High School Musical, for example, re-assembled on TV specials to discuss their fondest memories working together, while other ensembles — including that of Full House — straight-out reprised the characters that made them famous so many years ago.

It could be argued that no reunion blew more minds in 2016 than Will & Grace‘s core four: Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally slipped so seamlessly back into their classic roles for a pro-Hillary Clinton reunion short that talks of a full-on revival series soon followed.

Flip through TVLine’s gallery of the year’s most memorable TV reunions — you can click here for direct access — then drop a comment with your own favorite reunions below. (Any biggies we missed?)

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

I was kinda disappointed by the HSM reunion : no Zac Efron, really ?!

The Friends reunion wasn’t great but it was still so good to see them together again. I have hoped for a movie for so long but now I really think it’s too late.

And I loved Fifefly but this reunion was terrible. Awful, awful Castle episode.

  2. HAP says:

You guys could have probably found a better example than ER. The series ran for 254 episodes and Hargitay was in a mere 13 episodes. I really don’t think people associate her with ER.

  3. K says:

You put Fuller house on here but not Gilmore Girls?

  4. cc says:

From the Burrows tribute, the Taxi reunion was much better than Friends.

  5. Jecly says:

What about Mae Whitman as another Parenthood reunion on Gilmore Girls? Hers was the best cameo by far

  6. I’m still excited about the casting potential of Katy Segal on BBT, but the whole wedding episode was a huge disappointment, especially her.

  7. Emor says:

In a somewhat unrelated relation, that blind item involving Jon Hamm still has to go down as one of the WORST items ever on this site. (Side note: NO MORE blind items…They have all been a huge letdown!!!)
