The Voice Backstage Outtakes: Are We Ready for the Rev. Blake Shelton?

Is Blake Shelton about to extend his brand heavenward?

In these exclusive outtakes from The Voice‘s Season 11 semifinal rehearsals, contestant Sundance Head suggests his coach consider a second line of work — as a preacher. But Blake says there’s a hurdle he’ll need to clear before he can consider a switch to the world’s holiest profession.

Also in the backstage reel? Alicia Keys discovering her protége Wé McDonald is (almost literally) following in her shoes, Adam Levine and Billy Gilman dishing the perils of a high speaking voice and Miley Cyrus revealing her team’s got the coffee-house set on lock.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Gloria Magno says:

    Billy Gilman for the win!!!

  2. Regina K Pugh says:

I think Sundance has got this

  3. John Kindler says:

  4. Terri Burrill says:

Not sure who I want to win, love Sundance,Billy and We,I picked them all for the final.

    • Troll says:

Billy has the advantage in social media following, while We’ has the fastest growing recognition factor ——— Sundance and Josh might split the Country vote enough to weaken the Country advantage………… That leaves We’ an opportunity to slip through for the win, as she won’t be splitting votes with Ali ……………….. we realize that when there are 2 of the same genre/type/style/ of singers in a top 4, that they both become weaker in terms of pulling enough votes to win. We’ has a chance to win because Ali is gone – if Ali were still there and Josh was not, We’ would have a much lesser chance.

  5. Debbie Zimmerman says:

Would love to hear Blake say “can I get a amen”…lol

  6. Sophie M. says:

The world is discovering a star reborn, One Voice was heard, Billy is The Voice!

  7. Voice Fan says:

Sundance is going to win because he isn’t just country. Sundance appeals to soul and blues and country fans. He has that same soulful voice as Chris Stapleton whose album has been at the top of the charts since 2015 and has won best male singer for two years in a row at the CMAs and AMCs. Josh just sounds like all the other new country singers. Billy is a has been and We is too inconsistent and unusual.

  8. Bluegal says:

Does it really matter? Nobody who has won “The Voice” has had any lasting success. The show only cares about the coaches.

    • Kay says:

This is true, the only one that has had a couple of hits is Cassadee Pope!

    • Penny Can says:

True. The Voice may go down in history as the only big vocal contest to never produce a real star. Going back to Major Bowes Amateur hour [Frank Sinatra], Ted Mack [Gladys Knight and others], Arthur Godfrey [Julius LaRosa + others], StarSearch [LeAnn Rimes+], Nashville Star [Miranda Lambert +], American Idol [Carrie Underwood, Jennifer hudson and many more] have all given us a singer with staying power. The Voice? Crickets.

  9. Music In My Bones says:

Sundance shone, eclipsing the other three.

I’m still lamenting the loss of Brendan. He’s a star.

    • Lizzie says:

Brendan is my favorite voice of the season, I was sorry to see him go, totally bummed about how the Angel performance went for him, because that should have been good for his voice, but it went wrong. True Colors was outstanding.
