Ratings: NCAA Football Dominates Friday, CW Dramas Eye Upticks

Fox’s coverage of the NCAA football match-up between the Washington Huskies and Colorado Buffaloes drew 5.4 million total viewers and a 1.7 rating on Friday, easily winning the night in the demo.

CBS’ colorized I Love Lucy special (6.7 mil/0.9), meanwhile, commanded Friday’s largest total audience.

Over on ABC, Last Man Standing (6.3 mil/1.1), Dr. Ken (4.5 mil/0.9) and Shark “Chewable Coffee!” Tank (5.2 mil/1.2) were all steady.

The CW’s Vampire Diaries (1.1 mil/0.4) and Crazy Ex (650K/0.3) each rose in audience as well as ticked up in the demo, though I don’t know if there were any preemptions going on there.

NBC’s Dateline (6.1 mil/1.2) and ABC’s 20/20 (6.3 mil/1.1) both hit season highs in total audience as well as the demo.

I love the annual I LOVE LUCY special. The Christmas ep is awesome. However, their choice for the 2nd ep this year was below par. The previous years’ chocolate factory and grapes foot-stomping eps were far superior. Think they could have picked a better 2nd ep for this year.
