Criminal Minds Sneak Peek: The Latest UnSub Is Tara's Brother — Or Is He?

A BAU team member’s family “reunion” quickly escalates into an UnSub situation, as seen in this exclusive sneak peek from Wednesday’s Criminal Minds (CBS, 9/8c).

In “Mirror Image,” which was directed by cast member Joe Mantegna, Dr. Tara Lewis (played by Aisha Tyler) gets a visit from her brother Gabriel. Thing is, Tara of course knows her brother, and this stranger (guest star Alimi Ballard) ain’t him! And yet, this “Gabriel” knows everything about Tara and her (their?) family.

Confusing matters even more, Tara is unable to make contact with the “real” Gabriel….

In the clip above, Rossi and Prentiss pull Dr. Lewis in for a meeting, to weigh in on her sibling mystery — and how it might tie into Hotch entering WITSEC.

Love it! Love Prentiss in charge. Love the interaction among the three. Love the profiling/interrogation tactic aspect. Can’t wait for this episode and I haven’t said that much the last few years about this show. I used to watch SVU live and CM whenever and now it is the reverse again.

  2. Yes! This is the best this show has been in so many years ❤️❤️

This looks like it’ll be quite a creepy episode. Considering Mr. Scratch is responsible for putting Hotch into Witness Protection, and he’s supposed to kinda be stalking the team in general, I definitely think he’s got to be involved with this somehow, too.
I’m looking forward to this episode. Be fun to learn a bit more about Tara herself during it, too.

I’m honestly split… While I have long been a fan of Aisha’s acting on scripted work, having unsubs connected to team members seems to be a response to people commenting on this site & others they wouldn’t watch after Gibson & Moore left, instead of highlighting the strengths of individual team members (the way they did Reid in “Entropy” last season, which appeared to have been left out of Ion’s Season marathon last week).

    • Angela says:

ION does that a lot when they get the most recent season into their lineup. They tend to skip over some of the bigger episodes from that season in the first couple run-throughs (they did it with “200” back when season 9 was being added, if I recall rightly, and I know there were a couple episodes they skipped when season 10 got added, too), and then eventually they go through and show every episode from the season as it gets worked into the regular rotation. Last season’s “Derek” and “Beautiful Disaster” haven’t been shown on ION yet, either.
Why they do it that way, I don’t know-it’s kind of annoying, especially if the episode they don’t show is a continuation of the events in one they did show. But it’s been a common thing with them when adding new seasons of CM into the lineup. I don’t know if they do that with any of the other shows that air on there when adding their latest seasons in-maybe somebody who watches some of those other shows can answer that.
