Westworld Season 2 Ed Harris Return

Westworld Star: 'I Will Be Involved' in HBO Sci-Fi Drama's Season 2

Warning: If you don’t want to read possible spoilers about the end of Westworld‘s first season, it’s a good idea to go elsewhere now.

This’ll provide fodder for a few more of your Westworld fan theories: Star Ed Harris has made it clear that he’ll be back for Season 2.

Harris, who plays the HBO series’ mysterious Man in Black, told a BBC Radio 4 host that he’d recently spoken with series co-creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. (EW.com first noted the news.)

They’re going to do 10 more episodes, and I will be involved,” he added.

So what does this mean? It doesn’t necessarily indicate that the Man in Black — whom we have been led to believe is human — survives the season; though that is certainly a possibility. But after last week’s reveal that Bernard is, in fact, a host, might Harris wind up playing an android made to resemble the real Man in Black?

I don’t think the Man in Black is a host. I think he’s William. Everything points to him being William and that William’s story is from about 30 years ago.

    • Michael Summerset says:

Except for the meeting between Ford and MiB. It shows that this isn’t William’s story from 30 years ago because he meets the current day Ford. Also, if he was William he would likely have voice control over the hosts.

There are a number of possibilities. He could be William’s brother. He could also be a board member or a the head of a rival company trying to take over the park. It’s possible that he’s trying to make a deal with the board but they need to get Ford to retire before they can.

There’s a lot more going on in the show than what’s happening in the park. It’s a distraction from the real events.

      • Gabriel says:

What? Is it possible that you are confusing William with ARNOLD? Because none of what you say makes sense… Of course MiB/William is meeting the current day Ford. Both Ford scenes and MiB are the “present”, only William scenes are from 30 years ago, and it doesn’t show Ford. Also, why would William have voice control over hosts?

      • Wait what? how does it show that it is not williams story??? because present day william (the man in black) meets Ford in the present day… doesnt debunk that william is the man in black when he first came to the park, also why on Earth would William or the man in black have voice control over the hosts?? guests do not have that ability at all, are you confusing william with arnold? because honestly what you just said doesn’t add up at all, william meets deloris, keeps coming back for 30 years because he is now obsessed with the place he said himself that he was always longing for such a fantasy world he felt he belonged to, but everytime he comes back deloris wouldnt remember him, which is why the man in black says to her “you dont remember me do you” either way there is so much evidence that william is the man in black and everytime someone tries to refute it the evidence leads nowhere.

  2. Michael Summerset says:

The Man in Black mentioned in an earlier episode that he paid to be there. So it’s most likely human.

  3. Mamawalrus says:

Teddy couldn’t shoot him in the first episode so man in black has to be human.. or so we are lead to believe

  4. Anita says:

I think either Ford is a host, built by Arnold after they got into a fight and he accidentally killed him or he is Arnold himself.
