Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events: NPH Wigs Out in First Official Trailer

Neil Patrick Harris is a man of many hats — and wigs, and even a dress at one point — in the official trailer for Netflix’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Based on Lemony Snicket’s beloved children’s book series, Unfortunate Events stars Harris as Count Olaf, a sinister figure who becomes the guardian of three young orphans — though he’s far more interested in getting his hands on their inheritance than he is in “guarding” them.

The trailer also contains the first footage of Joan Cusack (Shameless) as Justice Strauss and Catherine O’Hara (Schitt’s Creek) as Dr. Orwell.

A Series of Unfortunate Events‘ first season drops Friday, Jan. 13, 2017. Hit PLAY on the trailer above, then drop a comment with your thoughts below.

Do we know how the season is structured? One book per episode all the way till the end?

  6. Hannah says:

Why does Violet look younger than Klaus?

    • Kay says:

I thought the same thing. It’s possible that the actor playing Klaus grew a bit between hiring and the start of filming? He’s right at that age where he could have shot up unexpectedly.

    Looks exciting!

I can’t wait!! After the disappointment that was the movie I was hesitant to see another attempt, but this looks AMAZING! The dash of humor that NPH provides is just what the show needs to counteract the obviously depressing storyline.
