Cornish’s Cathy Mueller is an infectious diseases doctor who’s a bright light in her field.
The Office alum Krasinski plays the drama’s titular hero, who is at the beginning of his career. The series will follow “an up-and-coming CIA analyst thrust into a dangerous field assignment for the first time,” according to the official logline. The 10-episode Jack Ryan, which received a straight-to-series order, “follows Ryan as he uncovers a pattern in terrorist communication that launches him into the center of a dangerous gambit with a new breed of terrorism that threatens destruction on a global scale.”
The series is based on an idea conceived by Lost‘s Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland. As such, it will not be a direct adaptation of Clancy’s popular novel series.
Cuse and Roland will executive-produce alongside Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Lindsey Springer, Andrew Form and Mace Neufeld.
Cornish’s on-screen credits include in the Discovery Channel miniseries Klondike and the film Sucker Punch.
