Conan O’Brien’s eponymous TBS talk show has had difficulty making headlines with its brand of bipartisan humor in a tumultuous election year. His remotes, however, remain funnier than anyone else’s in late-night.
Case in point: Monday’s segment wandering the streets of Harlem, as O’Brien got better acquainted with the neighborhood as he kicked off a week of shows at the Apollo Theater. The comedian, who previously hosted NBC’s New York-based Late Night program before relocating to Los Angeles, had no trouble fitting in, befriending both struggling artists and street vendors. He even managed to snag a free makeover, with enthusiastic beauticians gifting him a new braided ‘do.
