Gary Condit to Appear on Dr. Phil, Discuss Chandra Levy Murder

Fifteen years after Chandra Levy’s infamous disappearance, Gary Condit is talking about it with Dr. Phil.

The former congressman will join Dr. Phil McGraw on his daytime talk show this Thursday (check local listings), the show announced Monday. Condit, if you remember, was initially a suspect in the 2001 disappearance of Levy, a former intern of Condit’s who was found dead the following year. Condit denied having any romantic connection with Levy.

Condit was never charged, and an illegal immigrant named Ingmar Guandique was convicted of Levy’s murder in 2010. But Guandique won a new trial on appeal and prosecutors declined to retry him, setting him free and leaving the case unsolved.

In his chat with Dr. Phil, Condit addresses the rumors of a romantic relationship with Levy, and describes how he’s been hounded by press and the public: “As I would walk through the airport, people would walk up to me and ask, ‘Where did you hide the body?’ or yell across the room at me ‘Murderer!'”

I don’t know if he killed her or not but he certainly impeded the investigation to the point that valuable time was lost at the start of the investigation when crucial evidence could have been found. I always thought that he should have been charged with hindering a murder investigation.

And naturally he’s going speak to Dr. Phil, who scrapes the bottom of every barrel and then sensationalizes it.(can ya sense my sarcasm and disgust?) Why Dr. Phil gets airtime is beyond me!

Maybe this will be like an OJ Simpson thing where Gary tells us “IF I did it…” or perhaps comparable to the Jon-Benet ep wherein he will accuse Gary of doing it. Hot mess but potentially entertaining?

  3. GARY PURCELL says:

I somehow always felt that he did it. To me, there was just to much pointing to him!!!

What can he possibly gain from this interview. No one is going to read his book because he never told the truth and does not seem to be able to do so now.

Gary Condit didnt address a question by Dr Phil regarding Levy, stating he was taking a stand. Well then you can’t complain when people draw conclusions. Unfortunately you can’t pick and choose what to answer when a girl was murdered. So when we draw our own conclusions, don’t complain! We believe someone is not truthful when not answering a question.
