Nancy O'Dell Reacts to Trump Video: 'The Conversation Needs to Change'

Donald Trump and Billy Bush have weighed in on the infamous 2005 video of Trump making sexist remarks. Now one of the women discussed by Trump has responded.

Former Access Hollywood host Nancy O’Dell has been identified as the “Nancy” who the Republican presidential nominee described trying to have sex with (even though she was married) and said now has “big phony t-ts” in the video released on Friday. And in a statement to her current employer, Entertainment Tonight, O’Dell reacted to the video:

Politics aside, I’m saddened that these comments still exist in our society at all. When I heard the comments yesterday, it was disappointing to hear such objectification of women. The conversation needs to change because no female, no person, should be the subject of such crass comments, whether or not cameras are rolling. Everyone deserves respect, no matter the setting or gender. As a woman who has worked very hard to establish her career, and as a mom, I feel I must speak out with the hope that as a society, we will always strive to be better.

O’Dell and Bush were co-hosts of Access Hollywood at the time the video was made. Bush has since apologized for his involvement in the video, saying he is “embarrassed and ashamed.” Trump released a video late Friday night apologizing for his language, but despite losing support from key Republican officials, he has vowed not to drop out of the presidential race:

Does Donald Trump owe Nancy O’Dell an apology? And should he stay in the presidential race? Hit the comments and share your thoughts.

Both Trum and Billy Bush should apologize. And both should disappear.

  2. Drew says:

It’s a shame Nancy O’Dell merely refers to Trump’s comments as objectification of women and doesn’t touch on how he bragged about how he likes to assault women. When he feels like it, he just reaches out and grapes them and says he gets away with it because he’s a star. That’s sexual assault, plain and simple.
    .
It’s also a shame it’s taken this long and until this incident coming to light for the GOP to finally chastise him, prompting hjs non-apology apology. He’s said so many vile things about other races, religions, and even women, but now he’s suddenly crossed some imaginary line? Electio n day can’t come soon enough…

      *”how he gropes them”

Agreed. Though I do remember some in the GOP distancing themselves after Trump’s idiotic comments to the Khan family in regards to their appearance/speech at the DNC. Criticizing/dismissing troops and their families is a pretty big no-no for a politician.
      .
But yeah, Trump should’ve been out of the race after he called Mexicans rapists and drug dealers, or started going on about banning all Muslims from entering this country. Mind, the other GOP candidates weren’t exactly that much better of options.

    • Molly says:

There have been members of the GOP voicing displeasure with him as a candidate and his comments from day 1. . . I am not a Trump supporter, nor can I stomach Clinton. This election is a disaster. The horror, however is so over wrought I can’t handle it. I assume all those offended by Trump’s comments were not part of the “it’s only sex” contingency when the Gennifer Flowers and Paula Jones stories broke in the 90s. Or that the women who don’t want to,be objectified haven’t flocked to see Magic Mike and 50 Shades of Grey. Trump is a slimy SOB. But he is hardly alone and if folks aren’t spreading their horror around their hypocrisy is nauseating too.

      • John NYC says:

That Fifty Shades apology meme is sure making the rounds. Trump sexually assault the author? That’s the brag that bites.

Hey RNC Joe Biden is free for 2020!

        • Molly says:

Haven’t seen the meme. I’m just talking about women being crass over a guy. No one reads/watches 50 shades for its literary value. It’s all about the raw sex. Heck, I know plenty of women personally who find offense in Trump….and sopped up those books – fantasizing themselves in the role. 50 shades is about an unhealthy a relationship rooted in dominance and sex.

          • Jewels says:

Not to get too into the specifics of BDSM…

But there is a difference between SAFE, SANE, and CONSENSUAL sex (BDSM) and the horrid objectification and assault that Trump alludes to.

Stop believing the hype and do research before weighing in on a subject you know nothing about.

As an aside..50 Shades is NOT a BDSM lifestyle folks. There is also a big difference between FANTASY and REALITY.

          • Molly says:

Jewels, I didn’t say anything about it, although I don’t think the book is in line with the lifestyle you are defensive of. My comment is not about that lifestyle…it’s about people who,opt to be offended by objectification only when it suits them

        • Collette says:

Why would the RNC be interested in Biden? He’s a Democrat.

      • Andrew says:

I totally agree with you. People like to jump on the band wagon to deflect their own disgusting selfsame and point the finger, which is very common with both men and women. There’s a lot of creepo women out there, and men too. All in all, I would never vote for a Democrat, let alone that clap trap corrupt hypocrite Hillary Clinton. This presidential election is a joke, just straight garbage. I’m done with voting. There’s too many corrupt phony cronies in Washington. I’m upset to see how bad this election is and how bad it will be the next four to eight years.

      • Preacher Book says:

The Republican base put Trump there and the party leadership was too timid to challenge them. This from the party which claimed character matters [unless it’s our guy – see Arnold Schwarzneger (sic)]. No, voters can’t duck their responsibility here. They accepted Trump’s lie about himself and the conservatives’ lies about Clinton. You have no one to blame but yourselves.

        • Molly says:

Preacher Book, don’t lump all in one boat. I am a registered Repubilcan. I am the base. I also did not vote for Trump. Even though my state primary came after he secured the nom, I went and voted for someone else as a protest against him. I am also not alone. As for “conservative lies” about Clinton, give me a break. She’s her own brand of no good without any help from her opponents. I am an old enough to remember the Clinton’s first spin through in the ’90s.

    • Lucifer says:

Buddy, I know you and the rest of the regressives like to take things out-of-context to completely misrepresent it,. But Trump never said he rapes or assaults women because he is famous and get away with it. He specifically said is allowed the opportunity for beautiful women to willingly let him do sexual things with him. The part where he says “when you’re a star, they let you do anything…”

Also, where it the moral outrage for the dozens of women who have accused Bill Clinton of rape and have been slandered by Hillary in the media?

  3. Charlene Ofstedahl says:

He needs to get out and go away. Every time he opens his mouth he says something worse than before.

  4. Simon says:

I remember hearing back then that she hated Billy Bush and it was because of him that she chose to leave Access Hollywood. Bush does seem perry.

  5. Maryalice Westman says:

Nancy ODell is poised classy accomplished and relevant, I’m not sure an apology matters at this point…merely attempt at superficial damage control. I’m happy she spoke out so eloquently for herself and others.

  6. Jamie acosta says:

Yes I believe he should apologize to her but not only her to the whole country as a whole for the past 16 months 17 months he’s been rude loud obnoxious and disrespectful how would we feel if we would speak about his daughters and his mother like that that they are pigs that their ugly fat has he even looked in the mirror talking about other people the way they look but they’re fat look in the mirror and I will never ever call you Mr you do not deserve that label you’re nothing but a punk a bigot and a hypocrite

    • Dc says:

      Lol he is sick

    • Stacey says:

Hillary should also apologize for her comments and actions

      • Danny says:

This isn’t about Hilary Clinton. And it isn’t about Bill Clinton, no matter how much Trump wants to deflect the attention away from his reprehensible words. You can dislike Clinton for a variety of reasons, but don’t drag her and her husband into Trump’s mess.

        • wakey says:

Before I start I’m not a fan of Trump or Clinton, I’m not American but both seem like the world would be a worse place with an America ruled by them so in an ideal world neither would be elected BUT i’m not sure you can say the Clintons aren’t relevant though. BIll Clinton is guilty of sexual misconduct and there are many more allegations surrounding him some he ended up paying off while others he put pressure on other women to lie to discredit the accusers case . Hilary has backed him and even verbally attacked the women in the past. Surely actions speak louder than words and at this point Trumps is just words but the clintons is actions. So if Trump is getting vilified for comments surely Hilary should be getting hung drawn and quartered for her actions as surely worse until we have a proven case against Trump?

There has become a bit of a double standard though with comments that objectify others. Women can make them all day long about men and that’s fine (Just watch an episode of Dancing with the stars and see some of the pervy comments the female judges make) but a straight man does it and it’s somehow wrong. If it’s wrong for one person based on their gender or sexual preference then it should surely be wrong for all

          • sleepy says:

You’re right on about the pervy, objectifying comments made by all the women on Dancing With the Stars. Nancy O’Dell herself has made a career of objectifying male actors’ full frontal nude scenes, shirtless, best butts, best abs, David Beckham in his underwear, etc.

But the worst female offenders are on CBS Daytime’s the Talk, which amounts to a 50/50 mix of objectifying male bodies in the most crass terms while simultaneously blasting all forms of “white male privilege”, sexism and misogyny. The double standard is mind numbing on American TV.

    • B says:

      @Jamie acosta..

He HAS spoken about his own family in the same manner, unfortunately. Have you not heard his comments about his daughter? There are several interviews that you can Google where he states he would date his daughter. Vomit.

  7. Dahlia says:

Yes the language that Trump used was sleazy and not appropriate…however it never posed a threat to national security . Noone ever got killed. In comparison what Clinton did was a huge threat to national security and people died. Weight both situations

    • John NYC says:

No one died due to her actions. That’s the conclusion of EIGHT very expensive to the tax payers Congressional Republican led investigations.

Versus Trump bragging of sexual assaults; as fact, right in the tape in his own voice.

      • peterwdawson says:

Plus accusing the election of being rigged before it even happens, using less than subtle implications of violence on and after election day, encouraging violence against protesters, showing interest in employing nuclear weapons, and showing the same kind of thin skin as a legally elected official who has been actively endorsing the murder of his own citizens.

  8. Jerome tifft says:

Women make even worse comments about men. They just are better at it. This should be about who’s better for the country and we need Trump. Only a business man is gonna straighten out the financial mess. That our country has been thrown in the last 8 years.

  9. Rabia says:

He’s clearly digging his own grave. So let him remain. As for the sexist comments. He can go straight to hell…if he’ll be accepted there…Cuz that was beyond far the most disgusting thing I have ever heard a grown man and of his status say…sure if you enjoy crap like that keep it in your personal life not publicize it…once again gross, disgusting and clearly he doesn’t have any self respect or self worth ….

    • Collette says:

Yeah? How about Bill Clinton saying “I did not have sex with that woman” about a girl young enough to be his daughter while he was president? And then Hillary vilifying her and staying with him for the power and position. You OK with that?

  10. Dante says:

This…A**HOLE…doesn’t deserve any kind of attention or spotlight. I’m amazed he has gotten this far. What are people thinking !!!!
It is hard to fathom that ANYONE would even consider this shell of a man as the face of our nation, let alone vote for such a fool.
WISE UP PEOPLE…this is our country at stake.

  11. Lisa says:

He should Absolutely stay in the race GO Trump….. if our former presedent Bill Clinton could molest a then 19 year old intern among others, while in the oval office much less…… and continue to recieve accolades…. Give me and the rest of the USA a break the media in this great country SUCKS……….and thats putting in mildly….

  12. Michelle says:

Anyone who says our country isn’t the greatest should not be running for president of our country.
Not to mention, our first “lady” would be a gold digging whore from another country.

  13. The Johnson says:

Are you people serious? Men and women talk that way (objectivication of each other) . Does nobody remember “sex and the city”? At the end of the day what difference does it make? She told him no (obviously) and that was that. Are you sheeple actually willing to look at a career politician who has screwed up so many documented times and say she is better? How do you react to people when they are rude or mean to you….

    • Jenna says:

You walk up to random strangers and grab their genitals without their consent because you feel entitled to do so? Your friends do? I don’t know anyone who does that, and if you think that’s normal you need help and new friends. This was not him commenting that a girl was hot. This was Him bragging about sexually assaulting women. It’s indefensible

      • wakey says:

There is a difference between saying something and doing something though. It’s not like Trump has been proven to have done the things he has said. He shouldn’t have said it obviously but people say a lot of things that aren’t really true and are inapproiate when being either one of the boys or one girls.

  14. Stacey says:

Yes they both should apologize and i dont think Billy should lose his job over an 11 year old video and Trump should still be in the election theeir comments ate inexcusable they both aplologized and they were words not actions unlike Bill clinton who did unspeakable things to women while he was president and hillary tearing thise women apart if Teump steps down thN so shouls she

  15. Bill Campbell says:

No one is perfect, and comments are made, when they should not be. So not saying what was said was correct or acceptsble but no one can ever say they have not, either said or has done, let’s bring up Hillary’s husbznd Bill Clinton, still admired, by many who not only touted but carried out a sexual act, while representing our country and sitting in the Oval Office – Oral Sex and then denied this, not only to his wife but to all of us who put our trust, so let’s stop trying to persecute a comment when the then President of the USA, carried out and totally, degraded females, Monica was a daughter, grad daughter and an innocent victim – so why is Bill Clinton spoken so highly by Hillary and other Democrats,

  16. Sam says:

Why is this man still here as a presidential candidate To sum it up this man is an idiot. Racist, and ignorant. Have no respect for women. He thinks because he is rich he can do anything. Not so people.

  17. Lee Ann Kimble says:

If Trump needs to apolgize then every other red blooded American male should do the same. At some point we gave all said less than favorable things including myself and most if not all other women. Women do the same thing in private and mean bothing by it why should he be treated any different. They were in private and he was joking around. Its not becoming but he said it in private and it should have stayed that way. The real scumbag is the one that took money from You Know who to sell it.

  18. Marie McCarthy says:

He should not drop out. He may have said things that were distasteful but get over it.

I had to listen to this kind of crap for years but never took it to heart.

    Hillary is more disgusting.

  19. maregolden says:

I do not want Trump to drop out of the election. I want to see him CRUSHED on election day, and I want him to take as much of the do nothing republican congress as he can.

  20. John NYC says:

Good, Trump shouldn’t cut and run. He’s the deliberately chosen Repubkican candidate and well represents their family values.

Daylight is just such awesome disinfectant.

  21. Bella Feiler says:

He is a very vulgar human being he is sexist he hates anyone that is overweight. That is gay, also hates illegal aliens, Mexicans.

  22. Frank Salinas says:

Yes he should apologize to candidateher directly, but should remain in the race. He is the better candidate for President of the United States

    • Wendy says:

Trump doesn’t have the temperament to be dog catcher, let alone President of the United States. If he can’t hack the pressure NOW, what about when faced with other world leaders and international issues? He’s a psychopathic baby in a 70-year-old man’s body.

  23. Melchizedek Bride says:

Why isn’t there outrage at the hip hop “artists” who speak of committing rape and calling women horrible, demeaning names and violence be called on to stop?
These Illuminati puppets are coming out in droves against Trump, when they are also guilty and are hypocrites! Casting the stone is a really bad idea.

Only Yehoshua appoints Kings to rule the land, and we deserved Obama for our insolence against the Almighty, but promises that IF MY PEOPLE (believers) humble themselves and repent, He shall heal their land.

    • Ninamags says:

Last I checked, these hip hop artists aren’t running for the position of PRESIDENT of the freaking United States.

      • Molly says:

No. sexual innuendo and rape culture is wrong and it’s wrong no matter who is doing it. If you are outraged by a man, who at the time was not a candidate but was an entertainer and businessman, than you ought to be outraged by rappers and guys who catcall and men who make lewd comments to women who aren’t interested in all sorts of venues and manner.

  24. Anthony says:

What trump said eleven years ago is yesterday’s news….doesn’t make lt any better…but it’s old news brought to a new light….what a coincidence it comes to light the same day clintons really damaging emails came out….there not only damaging there despicable.by that I mean she is beyond a reasonable dought a criminal, who’s cover ups just keep piling up…TRUMP may be crude, but he didn’t lie about it,no one got killed because of it….those Republicans who want to jump ship….clean out your offices while your doing it..

  25. Alan Annichiarico says:

He apoligized and I think this country and all republicans need to support their canidate, if we let this crooked hag cross the finish line, this country will be worse off than ever. We have Russia threatening nuclear war and you assholes are worried about lewd comments from 15 years ago

    • Don williams says:

We do need a leader that will protect the boarders for the safety of all Americans. My fear is for the younger generation. Protect them and vote for trump. Hillary Scares me.

  26. Scott Sinclair says:

There most likely isn’t any Real MEN that hasn’t said or thought about the same as Trump. Politics always brings out the worst. I find it’s a huge shame that politicians can’t dwell on what’s important for our country. I never have and will not vote for ANY trash talking politician , no matter if it’s sexist, racist, or derogatory towards another politician.

  27. Cr says:

It’s not like Trump would mean it if he did apologize. I get the sense that he feels he did nothing wrong. What was wrong to him is that this came out, not that he said it.

  28. Rachel says:

So Billy Bush is 44 years old which mean he was 33″younger” …Are you serious? This is his excuse. The sad thing was that this was his co-worker at the time. Apparently he did not respect her either.

  29. D says:

Still voting against Hillary, even if it’s for a moron like Trump

  30. Brock says:

Like you can’t respect and honor her *and* want to have a sex with her?
It’s not sexual assault when the woman is kissing you back and wants to be groped in the pussy.

Adultery should not be attempted without the other spouse’s consent for otherwise it is deceitful and insulting activity by the participating spouse. However open relationships and polyamory are optional.

Otherwise the criticism of Trump amounts to anti-sexual hate speech.

Sexuality is a human right! Why presume that women are being objectified? If you wanted to play a tennis game with someone it wouldn’t be an objectification of that person: “He was a very good tennis player, I wanted to play tennis with him.”

We haven’t heard of Trump assaulting anyone thankfully, and as you can see he “air-kisses” the Days of our Lives Star, reading her if she wants or doesn’t want “more.” He reportedly didn’t assault Nancy either.

Don’t commit adultery though people. There are plenty of single women and men out there. Adultery can break up families. Go for the singles or the swingers or those whom you know have polyamorous and open relationships, – and use 2 or 3 types of birth control concurrently so as not to get pregnant -.

And especially if a couple has kids. And I wouldn’t even try if someone is living with someone else unmarried. However even so, Jesus forgives adultery:

    John 8:
But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
2 Now early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them. 3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned. But what do You say?” 6 This they said, testing Him, that they might have something of which to accuse Him. But Jesus stooped down and wrote on the ground with His finger, as though He did not hear.

7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”

11 She said, “No one, Lord.”

And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ.” Romans 8:8

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

  35. Don williams says:

If it is the truth I don’t think he should apologize. But as a human being he needs to be aware of how words hurt people. The entire debate is an embarrassment. Is this what we want our kids to see and hear? Respect others. speak of how you are going to help the United States. I’m ashamed that our leaders let this childish bickering go on.

  36. Lillie says:

Yes, he owes her, her husband, and entire family an apology. This is an affront to ALL persons.
