The Good Place

Ratings: The Good Place Inches Up

NBC’s new Thursday comedy block continues to hold its own, with rookie sitcom The Good Place building on its Superstore lead-in and growing week-to-week. The heavenly Ted Danson-Kristen Bell satire notched a 1.4 rating, up a tenth vs. last Thursday. Superstore, meanwhile, held steady with a 1.3.

At 10 pm, Chicago Med was flat (1.3), while The Blacklist (1.2) rebounded from last week’s series-low 1.1.

On ABC, Grey’s Anatomy — still the night’s top scripted draw by a landslide — ticked down a tenth to 2.3. Freshman drama Notorious also dipped slightly (from a 1.1 to a series-low 1.0), while How to Get Away With Murder (1.3) was flat. On Fox, Rosewood grew slightly (to a still-weak 0.9) while Pitch was unchanged at a 1.0.

Can you publish viewer numbers along with the demo?

  2. Papandreou says:

    How about the total viewers?

  3. Chi_Dez says:

Viewer numbers please, I’m a lay person. I don’t understand demo numbers :(

So basically a 2.0 demo rating is the new 4.0 ?

  5. Kevin K says:

Happy to see The Blacklist bouncing back from last week’s series-low numbers. Wonder what will happen whether or not Mr. Kaplan comes back from the dead.

  6. Carla Krae says:

What’s with only posting the demo?

    • JJ says:

Bottomline, viewer numbers are irrelevant. The 18-49 demo is the important rating and how networks make money and it determines whether a show gets canceled or renewed!

and I am fine with that

One hour is hardly a block.

  10. kmw says:

Surprised Rosewood and Pitch didn’t go lower but good that they stayed stable

  11. TV Gord says:

I’m thrilled to see The Good Place improving on Superstore’s numbers. I love that show! Also, great news for The Blacklist! Incidentally, last night’s Better Things on FX was outstanding, too! Thursday’s quite a busy night, but I’m happy!

Good news on The Good Place. Build demo by word-of-mouth, week to week. :)

Bad news for Notorious. If the demo goes below 1.0, and stays there around the 0.8 – 0.7 mark, it’s over. :(

  13. Paula says:

This most recent episode of The Good Place was definitely my least favorite thus far but the show remains a must watch for me. It is so uniquely clever and well cast!
