Walton Goggins to Star in Showtime Comedy from Justified EPs

Having already wrapped production on HBO’s Vice Principals, Walton Goggins has attached himself to another premium cable comedy.

The Justified alum is set to star in Showtime’s Keeping It Real, a dark comedy written by Academy Award-winning scribe Charles Randolph (The Big Short). The project reunites Goggins with executive producers Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly, who previously served as EPs on the aforementioned FX drama.

Per our sister site Deadline, the potential series will follow a self-absorbed movie star who travels the world hellbent on inserting himself into international incidents. Frequent collaborators Jim Rash (Community) and Nat Faxon (Married) are on board to direct, and will also serve as executive producers.

Goggins can next be seen in History Channel’s Navy SEAL drama SIXVice Principals, which will return for Season 2 in 2017, was always intended for a limited run of 18 episodes.

  1. I’m in. I miss Justified so much. And I’d watch Walt recite the phone book.

  2. Ana says:

so is Vice Principals a one-season show or was it cancelled?

  3. Annabanana says:

I will watch this man in anything, full stop because he always brings something different to the table every time, and owns whatever role he’s playing. I hope the material matches up to his talent.

  4. Joel says:

I’m taking note of this now! Cannot wait. Loved him in Justified. Loved him in Vice Principals…talk about playing DIFFERENT roles!!!! He is so talented.

  5. Walter Goggins is one of the great character actors ever. Definitely great in Justified, but if you haven’t seen him on Sons of Anarchy, it’s your loss.

  6. So this is a Sean Penn biopic.
