South Park to 'Reboot' the National Anthem in Season 20 Premiere

Following a nine-month hiatus, South Park is finally rejoining the cultural conversation. With so much happening in the world right now, the Comedy Central staple has a lot to say — and a lot to sing about, apparently.

Wednesday’s season premiere (10/9c), curiously titled “Member Berries,” is giving the National Anthem a “reboot,” according to a press release from the network. Given the show’s history of re-writing famous jams (Cartman’s colorful rendition of “O Holy Night” comes to mind), I don’t expect to be disappointed.

Additionally, the premiere will follow Mr. Garrison on his road to becoming our next president. (No word yet on whether “Caitlyn Jenner” will remain by his side, but I suspect she can’t be too far behind.)

True to form, that’s all we’re going to know about the season premiere until it airs on Wednesday. The network did release the following clip from the episode, though it doesn’t exactly give us much to go on:

Hit PLAY on the clip above, then drop a comment below: Which people and issues do you hope South Park will tackle in Season 20?

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

    The lyrics will be:

    Colin Kaepernick is great.

Cops are pigs, cops are pigs.

Wait, someone just took my stuff.

I need to call the cops.

Oh no, I just said cops are pigs.

Now who’s going to help me get my stuff?

Why did I listen to Colin Kaepernick?

    He’s not even any good.
