Zachary Levi and Smallville Duo Developing CIA/Sci-Fi Thriller for NBC

Chuck alum Zachary Levi‘s Middle Man Productions is developing for NBC Unidentified, a high-octane thriller with science fiction elements.

Per our sister site Deadline, the project — one of the first born of a first-look deal Levi sealed when he was cast on Heroes Reborn — follows a CIA operative who endeavors to protect his family from “an unimaginable secret.”

Levi will executive-produce Unidentified alongside Smallville vets Turi Meyer and Al Septein, who will serve as showrunners. Sean Finegan (Ethan Hawke’s Getaway) will pen the pilot.

Earlier this summer, Levi signed on to co-star in Alias Grace, Netflix and CBC’s six-hour miniseries based on Margaret Atwood’s novel of the same name.
