Amazon Eyes Real-Life Superhero Comedy Legend of Master Legend

Amazon is looking to put a fresh spin on TV’s superhero obsession with The Legend of Master Legend, a half-hour comedy project that’s currently in development at the streaming service, TVLine has learned exclusively.

The potential series is believed to be inspired by the real-life “superhero” known as Master Legend, who entered the national spotlight in 2008 when he was the subject of a Rolling Stone profile. In a nutshell, the Orlando-based vigilante — who sports a silver and black uniform — patrols the streets, gives (his time) to charity and, allegedly, has assisted local authorities in apprehending criminals. He even has a sidekick named Ace.

Master Legend’s personal fighting style is called “The Way of the Diamond Spirit,” which, he told Rolling Stone, represents “an evolution of hand-to-hand combat.” His weapon of choice? A potato gun (aka his “Master Blaster.”)

An Amazon rep has thus far declined TVLine’s request for comment.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

Are they making this as well as, or instead of The Tick? Because two superhero comedies is maybe one too many.

    If it’s a choice, I’d pick Tick.

  2. That really looks like Liev Schreiber in a wig and a mask :D

Master legend is real and is a great guy, you need a sense of humor to deal with the throw aways in life he tries to help. Not a lot of people would take the time. Sincere, athletic with a twist about views on life. Battling the demons on real homeless street life he inspires people for the positive side of life. Good job Legend man!!
