Ratings: Olympics Steady, Big Brother Hits a 6-Week Audience High

NBC’s coverage of the Summer Olympics on Thursday drew 20.5 million total viewers and a 5.7 demo rating, on par with the night before (20.7 mil/5.8) but nonetheless marking new second-lowest numbers for the Rio competition.

Versus Night 13 of the 2012 London games, NBC’s coverage was off 10 and 19 percent — one of the smaller disparities between the two summer games.

Over on CBS, Big Brother (6.1 mil/1.9) rose 18 percent and two tenths to draw a 6-week high in audience while matching its Thursday demo high for the season.

The CW’s My Last Days (770K/0.2) saw a jump in audience while matching the demo rating of its premiere.

I think people were expecting fireworks during last nights eviction on Big Brother and that didn’t happen.

This is one of the worst seasons ever. They need to cast older contestants, maybe?

Yeah, I agree. I like Paul and Vic’s shenanigans but everybody’s game play seems to be about emotionally damaging the competition to make them weak. Horrible strategy IMO and not fun to watch. There is some pretty good stuff going on right now on the feeds w/who won HoH and what there plan is, we’ll see if they actually have the balls to do it and what affect the next care package has on it.
