Alex Borstein Confirms MADtv Return

It look-a like Ms. Swan is getting back to her roots.

Alex Borstein on Thursday tweeted a picture from the MADtv set, confirming her return as an “all-star” to The CW’s new reboot:

TVLine has confirmed that Borstein will return for an upcoming episode, though an airdate is still unknown.

Borstein — who recently wrapped a three-season run on HBO’s Getting On, and continues to star on Fox’s Family Guy as the voice of Lois Griffin — joins a long list of original MADtv cast members making guest appearances on the reboot. Nicole Sullivan, Will Sasso, Ike Barinholtz, Bobby Lee, Debra Wilson and Aries Spears have all dropped by, with Mo Collins still slated to appear.

New episodes of MADtv air Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW.

Which of Borstein’s iconic roles would you like to see her reprise? (You know, besides Ms. Swan, of course.) Drop ’em in a comment below.

  1. Joey says:

Is Borstein still infrequently guest-starring as Frank’s lawyer on Shameless, too?

  2. Sonja says:

I always thought when I was young that the Ms Swan character was pretty racist, so I hope if they do bring her back, they take that into consideration. I know this show was all ‘offensive on purpose’ at the time, but the TV landscape is maybe different now? Idk.

Great news she’s coming back on the show!
