Catherine Zeta-Jones Feud Cast

Catherine Zeta-Jones Joins FX's Feud

This is not your momma’s Miss Mellie.

Film star Catherine Zeta-Jones has joined Ryan Murphy’s Feud in the role of Olivia de Havilland, Murphy announced Tuesday via Twitter.

The anthology series, which nabbed a series order at FX in May, will explore some of history’s greatest duels. First up: the off-screen drama between Joan Crawford (played by Jessica Lange) and Bette Davis (Susan Sarandon) during the making of the film What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?

The cast of the eight-episode first season also includes Stanley Tucci, Judy Davis, Alfred Molina and Dominic Burgess.

The Oscar-winning Zeta-Jones will play the Oscar-winning de Havilland, known for roles like Melanie in Gone With the Wind. De Havilland was not in Baby Jane, but she was a good friend of Davis’.

Zeta-Jones’ film credits include ChicagoTrafficEntrapment and The Mask of Zorro.

This show sounds stupid, she should be Hope Pym in the Marvel Movies :D

  2. Scott says:

Olivia De Havilland played Melanie in Gone With the Wind

Joan and Bette were supposed to make a SECOND movie together called “Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte.” They shot separately for weeks and then did one take together… And Crawford quit. De Havilland replaced Crawford.

It’s actually quite a good movie, all things considered.

Interesting… Rumor has it that OdH (darn that autocorrect) and her feud with sister Joan Fontainebleau might be fodder for season 2, so I wonder if this is forward-thinking casting.
