Colbert Announces Live Late Shows Following Presidential Debates

Donald Trump really can’t back out of those debates now.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert — which saw its ratings spike with its spate of live shows following the Republican and Democratic conventions — will go live again this fall following the presidential and vice presidential debates.

CBS announced Wednesday that Colbert will broadcast live installments Monday, Sept. 26 following the first presidential debate, Tuesday, Oct. 4 following the vice presidential debate, and Wednesday, Oct. 19 after coverage of the third presidential debate. (The second POTUS debate on Oct. 9 falls on a Sunday, hence no live Late Show that night.)

Additional details, like which special guests will be joining Colbert (cough Jon Stewart cough) will be revealed at a later date.

WOOT!!!! I was hoping for this to happen. The live shows definitely generated the buzz and ratings he’s needed all season.

That’s great, I’m looking forward to this.
Maybe I’m imaging it but I have the impression that the Late Show is more relaxed since the live shows. As if they were freed.

Good news. Love Colbert. However, I predict Donald Drumpf will somehow, someway get out of debating. He’s already started on this, saying – sure I want to debate, but I want to see who the moderators are, and why is it scheduled against football, etc. He will not debate. He doesn’t know enough about any of the subject that come up. He’ll chicken out.

great news….except that by the time the debates roll around, we’ll all be so sick of jokes about what a ridiculous/unqualifed/dangerous/bigoted jerk Comrade Donnie is, it probably won’t be much fun.
