Archer Video: Cast Defends Shortened Seasons, Examines L.A. Dream Theory

Fun fact: Even in person, the stars of FX’s Archer are no less animated than when they’re literally animated.

The whole gang stopped by TVLine’s Comic-Con interview suite (presented by ZTE) last month to discuss the show’s future, including its recent renewal for three (shortened) seasons — and things got really weird really quickly.

“People don’t realize that only one guy writes this show, and he doesn’t enjoy our company,” Aisha Tyler said of series creator Adam Reed. “He’s doing the television version of ghosting us — not returning our calls, writing fewer and fewer episodes. The last season’s going to be one episode.”

TV veteran Jessica Walter, meanwhile, was quick to remind her younger co-stars that regular season orders were once 39 episodes. And there was no such thing as reality television. And actors had to walk to and from set uphill… in the snow! (OK, I might have made up that last part, but it’s not far off.)

Hit PLAY on our interview with the Archer cast above, then drop a comment with your own thoughts below: Which season should have been a dream? And what do you hope to see from the series moving forward?

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. You mention hitting play on a video, but I can’t see a video. Just a pic of the cast.

  2. Dave says:

Congrats on posting a video that is secretly a picture! It is far too early for April fools posts.
