Rachel Brosnahan The Marvelous Mrs Maisel Cast

House of Cards Actress Lands Lead in Gilmore Girls Creator's Amazon Pilot

Rachel Brosnahan hasn’t just joined the cast of Amy Sherman-Palladino’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, she is the marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

The House of Cards actress has been cast as the titular character in the Gilmore Girls creator’s Amazon dramedy pilot, our sister site Deadline reports.

The 1950s-set project follows Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a young Jewish wife who becomes one of the first female standup comedians after her husband leaves her and their two children.

The hour-long potential series is written by AS-P, who will produce with husband Dan Palladino (Gilmore Girls).

Brosnahan’s other TV credits include ManhattanThe Blacklist and Grey’s Anatomy. She also recently was cast in Woody Allen’s upcoming Amazon series.

I love Amy Sherman-Palladino and Rachel Brosnahan. So, I will definitely be watching. (although it is kinda funny that ASP is going to Amazon after the GG revival which I’m sure probably doesn’t have anything to do with her experience at Netflix)

Two people working together who I couldn’t adore more than I already do. Can’t wait to see this.
