Ratings: America's Got Talent Dips to Season Lows, DNC Audience Grows

NBC’s America’s Got Talent this Tuesday drew 10.1 million total viewers and a 2.2 demo rating, dipping 9 percent and a tenth to season lows.

Elsewhere on the night….

ABC | The Bachelorette‘s “Men Tell All” did 5 mil and a 1.3, down sharply from last season’s reer!-fest (7 mil/1.9).

CBS | Zoo (4.1 mil/0.8) ticked up a tenth.

THE CW | MADtv debuted to 1.1 mil and a 0.3, on par with Containment. TVLine readers gave the premiere an average grade of “C+.”

FOX | Hotel Hell (2.5 mil/0.9) and Coupled (1.1 mil/0.5) were flat.

The Big 3’s coverage of the Democratic National Convention amassed 11.4 million total viewers and a cumulative 2.4 rating, up in audience but down a tick in the demo from Night 1, but improving on the broadcast numbers for the RNC Night 2 (9.6 mil/2.0).

I would’ve watched MADtv live if I had known Deran and Adrian weren’t going to be featured at all in Animal Kingdom again last night.

  2. Carla Krae says:

Wouldn’t ratings for the 8PM shows be a bit screwy this week considering the DNC has run around 30 minutes late both nights? Or is it only the West Coast they’ve been screwing up?

  3. Laura C says:

With a few exceptions, I think AGT has some great talent this year. That is WHEN it is on or not pre-empted/starts late due to political crap I have NO interest in watching. The DNC & RNC is a bunch of hooey-blowing-out of candidates mouths & if one votes at all, it’s only “the lesser of 2 evils.” No thanks. Politics is saying one thing BEFORE election and doing what they want AFTER elected.

  4. Theresa says:

Wtf did Nigel expect. I have been a dedicated fan of this show since Season 1 (love Cat and Mary Murphy) but this travesty I just cannot and don’t want to watch!!

  5. MV says:

It does not help that Boston cannot get these shows live on DirecTV. The local provider for NBC has shut down the station and is asking for a 300% increase in fees. We get it on demand but not live.
