Mr. Robot Cast Reacts to That Theory, Teases 'Badass' Season 2 Finale (Including Who's In the Last Scene!)

One of the Mr. Robot stars was stuck in sleep mode when the USA Network drama picked up a half-dozen Emmy nominations earlier this month.

In fact, it was no less than Lead Actor in a Drama nominee Rami Malek who wasn’t awake for the big announcements, the actor confessed to Michael Ausiello at TVLine’s Comic-Con studio presented by ZTE.

After weighing in on the acclaimed drama’s receipt of largesse, Malek, Christian Slater, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubelday and Season 2 addition Grace Gummer in the video above proceed to sing the praises of their “inhuman” creator (and director of all episodes), Sam Esmail.

They then get to promising answers (at least to some dangling Season 1 threads) and teasing the “badass,” film-like Season 2 finale (even revealing at least one person who is in the very final scene).

Oh, and to be sure, they share their take on the twisty theory making rounds, about what Season 2 is really about. (Skip 3:30-4:15 if you wish to remain speculation-free, as their theory does affect viewing of the episodes.)

Y’all gotta get that Trump ad off your main page pronto. I just vomited in my mouth a little bit.

  2. darkangel200 says:

Great vid, thanks! I heard there was some big theory but had no idea what it was, so that was a fun reveal also. And now I’m really excited for the finale!

    • Goshen says:

Methinks there was a considerable amount of play-acting going on when the cast members spoke as if they hadn’t even heard “the theory.” After three episodes there is as much evidence for “the theory” this season as there was last year for the notion that Mr. Robot didn’t exist.

  3. Joey Padron says:

Good interview with the cast. Can’t wait to find out what happens in next episodes and in season finale they talk about a bit.
