Fall TV Preview

black-ish Season 3 Casts Hamilton's Daveed Diggs as [Spoiler]'s Brother

black-ish is adding Hamilton‘s Thomas Jefferson to its family tree.

Tony winner Daveed Diggs, who last week exited the Broadway phenomenon, is joining the third year sitcom in the recurring role of Bow’s brother, Variety reports.

Diggs’ Johan is described as a pretentious hipster type who constantly upsets Anthony Anderson’s Dre. He’s also seen as a bad influence on Dre and Bow’s kids, who — with the exception of Diane — all think he’s incredibly cool.

Diggs recently made headlines when he was announced as part of the all-star cast of Andy Samberg’s Tour de Pharmacy, a limited series co-starring Last Man on Earth‘s Will Forte, as well as Julia Ormond, Phylicia Rashad, Dolph Lundgren, John Cena, Mike Tyson and Nathan Fielder.

black-ish returns for its third season on Wednesday, Sept. 21 (9:30/8:30c, ABC).

Thoughts on Diggs’ casting? Excited to see the Hamilton alum invade the Johnson family home? Sound off below.

While it was sad to see the Original Cast of Hamilton leave the show, it’s spectacular to see how they’re all exploding across the rest of the entertainment world!

I 100% agree. I feel that way about all b’way actors, though. I love seeing them pop up in TV, film and movies.
