Greatest Hits Ratings ABC

Ratings: Greatest Hits Performs for ABC, Bests NBC's Spartan

Greatest Hits cued up 4.9 million total viewers and a 1.1 rating (per finals) with its Thursday debut, placing second in the hour behind Big Brother while giving ABC its best summer numbers in the time slot since 8/21/2014 and 5/30/2013, respectively.

Versus Mistresses‘ year-ago numbers, Greatest Hits improved 60 and 83 percent.

Opening ABC’s night, BattleBots (3.6 mil/0.9) ticked down from its season opener.

Elsewhere in the ratings:

CBS | Big Brother (5.9 mil/1.8) ticked up from last Thursday; a Big Bang rerun drew the night’s largest audience (with 7.1 mil).

NBC | Leading out of U.S Olympics swimming trials (5.3 mil/1.2), Spartan (3.7 mil/1.0) rose 32 percent and two tenths week to week. Aquarius (1.9 mil/0.4) was steady.

THE CW | Beauty and the Beast (760K/0.2) dipped to its smallest audience in a while, yet was steady in the demo.

I forgot to watch Greatest hits tv special. Any website to look at that show?

Last nite, while channel surfing, I caught the last 15 minutes of $100,000 Pyramid on my local NBC station in Reno, NV. Why is that 1 hour show from 10 to 11 pm not listed?

Watching this made me yearn for the 80’s again. I was 18 in 1980. Then again, I started to think about what the 80’s was REALLY like. Reagan refused to acknowledge that AIDS was more than a ‘gay’ disease and he said gays deserved it. Drug addiction was at an epidemic level. Musicians were dying right and left from their drug use. Interest rates for mortgages were HIGH. Cars were junk. The air was terribly polluted here in L.A.. TV shows sucked. Wages were low. I could go on and on…..But, the worst part of the 80’s for me was losing soooo many good friends to AIDS, there was no treatment — just a painful death.

Looking at the old musicians made me sad….No, we can go backwards.

And, what’s up with Arsenio? He tried so hard to be ‘cool’, but he’s just another old guy who needs to step down.

We enjoyed Greatest Hits and will keep watching each week. So much better than the usual tv fare.
