Fall TV 2016: Your Handy Calendar of 120+ Season and Series Premiere Dates

Hopefully your DVR is enjoying its summer vacation, resting its gears, pistons and what not, because TVLine is about to drop on you more than 90 premiere dates for the Fall TV season.

Yes, it is already time for our famously handy calendar (and it is a legit calendar) of season and series launches, kicking off with a bit of (Masters of) Sex and some Dancing stars (or “stars”) before going absolutely bonkers the week of Sept. 19, where 56 (!) premieres await you.

Here is our round-up of September and October’s big bows, plus an always-convenient tinted box that reminds of each broadcast network’s midseason holds — a good way to save yourself from “Heavens to Betsy, where is my Scandal?!?!” bouts of hysteria.

New series are listed in red. Click to zoom, save the dates! (Updated 9/26)
tv-schedule-fall-premieres-2016-h14Preemptive P.S. My calendar-making skills have never been infallible, so if you spot something that is (theoretically) missing, drop a polite note in Comments and I will (possibly) include it in an update.

You can also view the broadcast networks’ Fall TV roll-out plans in detail at these links: ABCCBSFoxNBC and The CW.

Want scoop on any of the above shows? Email insideline@tvline.com and your question may be answered via Matt’s Inside Line.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  5. Ash says:

What about The Walking Dead? They are usually the first or second Sunday in October, I think. Or have they not officially announced, yet?

    • Jax&Juice's Girl says:

Comic-con next month they always announce release date with the new season trailer.

*Plus I hate CBS right now why move NCIS:LA on Sundays at the same time as OUAT on ABC!!!! I don’t have dvr……

    • Aintha says:

      October 23 :)

  6. Nick Hogan says:

Nice touch with Supergirl. I see what you did there.

  7. B says:

    Thanks – very handy reference.

  8. Looking forward to the new season! Still wish they hadn’t benched The Originals until mid-season though!

  9. Sal Romeo says:

You forgot Star… A show premiering on Fox in midseason… Not only might I be excited but others might too be excited… So?

  10. Jason K says:

Hey, got three comments for ya. First, very nice calendar. Second, what about ZNation? I don’t see that on there. Third, what about a list format version of this? Sort it by TV show alphabetically and then it would show the dates next to it. I personally would prefer something like that then a calendar because it be easier to see all the shows at a glance.

Either way, good job and thank you!

    • jp says:

I really like this calendar and along your suggestion I create a personal format by day – hours on the top and network on the side then the shows by hour and the day they premiere. Great for us dvr people.

  11. Mary says:

    Hollywood Game Night?

  12. Lala says:

When does Toast premiere…the Shondaland comedy

  13. Kim says:

    No date for Grimm, yet?

  14. Be great to include BBC-A as well please!

  15. Hellas13 says:

Are you going to do one for July? Maybe July/August?

  16. Ry says:

Hi! Thank you for the calendar! I look forward to this every year and highlighting my shows! Question for you though- where can I find the page that tells about the new shows? I know it exists, it’s just hiding from me.
    Thank you!

  17. Diane Glickman says:

Will there ever be a printable version of this calendar?

  18. Patriceia Woblick says:

Grimm October 28th. Not completely sure it’s a real release date but I saw it on a website about a panel for grimm

  19. This calendar is always so helpful. Thank you for all the time it takes you to gather the official information and put it together for us.

  20. Diane Glickman says:

Is there any way to print the calendar?

  21. flipper says:

I heard ABC is thinking of bring Castle back. Made a mistake by firing Katic.

  22. Alan Liesse says:

    Saturday Night Live?

  23. Kirby McCauley says:

Are the Dates or the DAYS correct for September? Because September starts on a Monday so they’re literally *all* off????

  24. Rosa says:

So Castle is not even going to have a final season????
All them un-neccessary reality shows and canceling the good stuff sucks….

  25. Tony says:

Big Bang Theory is listed twice- I assume that’s to highlight its shift from Monday to Thursday?

  26. I didn’t see castle, what’s up with that?

  27. Chris J says:

Hi, Negan and “Walking Dead’ returns Sunday Oct. 23!

  28. Meliss says:

Three things: Disappointed that you moved Scorpion to 10pm. Disappointed that Hell’s Kitchen is now on Friday nights. Big Bang Theory is listed twice (Monday and Thursday)…which is it?

  29. Chris Huth says:

I don’t see Grimm on the Friday schedule.

  30. Jill says:

I want to print this but every time I do it’s blurred. Is there a printable one?

  31. Rae Lee says:

the originals on CW & the walking dead on AMC?

  32. Rae Lee says:

    the strain? the returned?

  33. Trina says:

    Vikings on history???

  34. Rev. Marie A Tombow says:

Don’t like the moving of NCIS: Los Angeles to Sunday at 8:00pm. As a church-goer, I won’t get to watch it. Can’t afford DVR …. darn!!!

    • NCIS: LA has been moved to terrible time slot. It’s actually on 7:00 CT on Sundays. 1, It will almost always start late due to football, 2, Because of that early time slot, they will have to alter their subject matter so as not to scare youngsters, and 3, why couldn’t they put Madame Secretary there (where she was last season) as it is a much less violent show?

  35. Alicia says:

    Any word on Longmire?

  36. Candis says:

    What about scandal??

  37. Tracy Roketta says:

Would be lovely to see this as a Word document – something that would be editable so what I don’t want to watch can be removed.

  38. PlayballK says:

I know it says Grimm’s premiere hasn’t been announced, but my understanding is that it was going to be held back until mid-season. Is that not right?

  39. Simon Jester says:

Missing Poldark (Sept. 25) and a number of shows that drop on Oct. 2 (Ash vs. Evil Dead, Blunt Talk, and Westworld).

  40. C says:

Final Season of “Rectify” starts on October 26th. Best show on any network.

  41. Eileen says:

Whoa! Did I miss something? Shameless as a fall show?? I thought there had been a mixup (not that I don’t trust you, but… I wanted to double check!) but sure enough- Season 7, Episode 1 on Oct 2!? I had no idea!!! Any word on why they are changing it?

  42. Julia says:

Rizzoli & Isles Series Finale! September 5th

  43. Jennifer says:

Wasn’t TNT and USA and FX having new shows too?

  44. Jennifer says:

What about USA FX and TNT?

  45. Austin says:

Thank you for the calendar. I was wondering when was the season finale for Fear the Walking Dead.

  46. Elanore C Cornell says:

    Aftermath (Syfy) on Sept 27

  47. Mary says:

    Hello :)
I don’t see Chicago Fire on the list.
It airs on NBC. I assume it will premiere on the same week as all the Chicago Med/Chiacgo Pd.
    Thanks for making this calendar!!

  48. Mark D. Moss says:

Not a biggie (yet), but Grimm (Jan 6) is missing from the mid-season premiere section.

  49. grace says:

the walking dead premires October 23 NOT september 23
