Prison Break Dominic Purcell Injured

Prison Break: Dominic Purcell's On-Set Injury Won't Delay Production

Yikes — that’s one way to put the “break” in Prison Break.

When Dominic Purcell shared photos of his bloody, bandaged face on Instagram Thursday — along with the news that, while shooting the Fox reboot in Morocco, he had broken his nose and injured his head when a heavy set piece fell on him — it seemed like production delays were inevitable. But, after the actor was “flown to a medical facility where he received treatment,” Fox said in a statement, “we are happy to report that he is in great spirits and is expected to make a full recovery.”

Not only that, but production on the 2017 event series will manage to continue on schedule. Following a brief hiatus from filming, Purcell will return to the set and pick up his scenes.

“He wanted us to express his appreciation to the fans around the world who have expressed their concern and support,” Fox’s statement reads, “and to reassure them that he will be back at work very soon.”
