Baby Daddy Premiere Video: Is There Still Hope for Danny and Riley?

Bonnie is determined to help Danny smooth things over with Riley in Wednesday’s Baby Daddy premiere (Freeform, 8:30/7:30c) — but don’t for a second think she’s doing it solely out of the goodness of her heart.

Mama Wheeler lends her newly single son a (somewhat) sympathetic ear in TVLine’s exclusive clip from the episode, as he continues to justify not telling Riley that he slept with Sam in high school.

“You’re the one who taught me that you don’t need feelings to have sex with someone,” Danny recalls, proving Bonnie’s been a font of wisdom since long before the show began five seasons ago.

She attempts to soothe his confusion with hollow platitudes (“You’re Danny and Riley,” “You’re meant to be together,” etc.), but a follow-up request causes her to spring into action.

Riley is overreacting (it was once, years ago and purely physical). Danny should have been honest (especially since he knew how Riley felt about Sam and how insecure she is). This is “(un)necessary” drama for a sitcom couple for whom things had been going smoothly for half a season. I’m sure they’ll figure it out and make up in time for the season finale! Like Bonnie said: they’re Danny & Riley, they’re meant to be…

    • Hipper says:

Are you surprised? This show has always been fun fluff with eye candy and contrived drama. I take it as is…. summer guilty pleasure.

  2. Mary Price says:

As usual Riley is over reacting. Good God it was high school. Come on, Riley needs grow up & not act like she’said in High School. She loves Danny. Is she really going to let this stop her from trusted love?

  3. Hodan says:

I rewatched the seen where Danny saw the video and it looked like he didn’t even remember sleeping with Sam. So, it not like he lied.

Anyways, we barely saw any Danny and Riley scenes last season and I hope they don’t do the same again this season.

  4. Lala says:

Has this show been renewed yet…Young and Hungry was renewed ages ago

  5. Joey Padron says:

Good clip from new episode. Can’t wait for the show to be back tomorrow night! Hope Danny and Riley can get back together.

  6. Sarah says:

I watched the first few seasons of this and it was cute but eventually the relationship drama got to be too much. She didn’t know which brother to choose and her feelings seemed to jump from one to the other and honestly that’s just tacky. I guess she’s finally with Danny now but still the relationship drama continues. Can’t the writers come up with any other plot?

    • Lola says:

Right with you Sarah. I honestly don’t think Riley is worth this crap. She’s so average. Most episodes I find her super annoying and not in a cute funny kind of way.

      • Lala says:

Yeah I find Danny & Riley to be the weakest characters of the show and it’s mainly to do with the unnecessary drama they always have…I stick with the show because of Tucker, Bonnie & Ben…
