NBC Upfront 2016

NBCUniversal Upfront 2016 Photos: Mariah Carey's Diva Moment and More

Given that Jimmy Fallon kicked off Monday’s NBCUniversal Upfront with a Hamilton-inspired performance, it’s only fitting to declare it one of history’s weirdest presentations. (Not that that’s a bad thing.)

In fact, given the Upfront’s two-hour run time — this was the first year when all of NBCU’s properties were consolidated into one presentation — we appreciated the veritable circus of celebrities doing everything they could to keep us awake on a Monday morning. (Bonus points go to whoever wrote this line for Fallon’s rap: “At least we’re not rebooting Heroes or renewing The Slap!”)

Sure, we were excited to see the first trailers for shows like Powerless (NBC), Emerald City (NBC), The Arrangement (E!) and Mr. Robot Season 2 (USA Network), but when you’ve got flirting machinery and glow-in-the-dark soccer players, how can anyone stay focused on “television”?

From Mariah Carey‘s over-the-top entrance to Kate McKinnon-as-Ellen’s selfie of the stars, TVLine compiled a gallery of the moments we’ll be talking about until the next Upfront this afternoon for the foreseeable future.

Browse the gallery of Upfront photos below, then drop a comment with your thoughts.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

Any word on when the trailers will be made available to the public?

  2. Boiler says:

Guess this shows the dumb mindset of NBC

  3. Kevin K says:

Kate McKinnon as Ellen was hilarious especially having the stars of their respective NBC shows taking a group selfie like they did when the real Ellen hosted the Oscars. Show NBC some respect and try not to complain.

    Kinda tired of Mariah Scarey…..yawn
