Conviction Series Hayley Atwell

ABC Orders Conviction Drama to Series, Starring Agent Carter's Hayley Atwell

Despite Agent Carter‘s fresh termination, Hayley Atwell will be on ABC next TV season, now that the network has ordered the legal drama Conviction to series.

TV’s erstwhile Peggy Carter stars on the new series as Hayes Morrison, a lawyer and former First Daughter who is about to accept a job from her sexy nemesis, New York District Attorney Wayne Wallis (CSI: NY‘s Eddie Cahill), to avoid jail time for cocaine possession and avoid hurting her mother’s Senate campaign. Working with Wayne’s team at the new Conviction Integrity Unit, Hayes uses her brilliant mind to turn over cases where there is credible suspicion of wrongful conviction, and give her a chance to turn things around with her high-powered political family.

Conviction also stars Shawn Ashmore (The Following) as Sam Sullivan, Merrin Dungey (Alias) as Maxine, Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead) as Tess Thompson, Manny Montana (Graceland) as Franklin “Frankie” Rios and Daniel DiTomasso (Witches of East End) as Jackson Morrison.

Well, if she can’t be Agent Carter, then she can be a lawyer. This has a good cast – Eddit Cahill – glad he’s coming back on TV, Shawn Ashmore, and Emily Kinney. Hope this lasts for more than one or two seasons.

Praying for a Galavant renewal. And blu-ray release.

  10. DreamRose311 says:

Was it really too much to ask them to keep Agent Carter so that we could have two Hayley Atwell shows? I was really hopeful since when this show was announced they made a point of saying that she’d be able to do both… *sigh*

    • herman1959 says:

That was never going to happen, but let’s hope the new show works out because I love her. One thing though, I hate her new character’s first name; I hope they change it.

  11. ComeOn says:

So if this show doesn’t work out after debut season (I mean, do we really need another legal drama?), can Agent Carter goes to Netflix, pretty please?

  12. Kristina says:

Happy for her. :) Now let’s hope for a good timeslot (i.e., not Tuesday).

  13. Mark says:

You mean the show that stars the sibling of ABC’s president got picked up? HOW SHOCKING!

  14. Carol_R says:

Too bad they cast Hayley Atwell in a starring role in it. I can’t stand her lack of acting ability.
