Game Of Thrones After Show

Game of Thrones: HBO, Bill Simmons Teaming Up for Weekly After Show

Do you end every episode of Game of Thrones asking yourself, “Wait, which bearded guy was that again?” If so, this news is for you.

As part of HBO’s new partnership with Bill Simmons, the premium network is launching After the Thrones, a weekly after show in which Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan — both hail from Simmons’ forthcoming site The Ringer — will offer a recap of the latest events, theories about what’s to come and more.

Greenwald and Ryan currently host the Thrones podcast The Watch; they previously hosted Watch the Thrones for Simmons’ now-defunct Grantland. Here’s a mere taste of what they’ll be bringing to the table:

The episodes will become available Mondays on HBO NOW, HBO GO and HBO On Demand. They will also air on HBO on to-be-announced dates. Game of Thrones‘ sixth season kicks off Sunday, April 24 at 9/8c.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. Mike says:

I’m not sure how they’ll be on TV but the podcast is great. I’m looking forward to this.

  2. Wordsmith says:

Seems like Talking Dead has enjoyed enough success that everybody is jumping on the bandwagon. First Orphan Black, and now GoT. as long as they have interesting things to say, I say bring it on!

  3. Si says:

So basically they’re copying what we have here in UK after GoT, why don’t they just air that? we’ve had an aftershow since season 1 called Thronecast. Also the apprentice has had the you’re fired aftershow for 10 years so walking dead hardly created the concept.

  4. Joey says:

Haven’t listened to them before. Do they regularly call out the problematic material in the writing on a regular basis? If not, then no thanks.

  5. AngelWasHere says:

I’ll watch it if they discuss it in intelligent and thought provoking way with some humor similar to Talking Dead. I will also like to see stars from the show make appearances. So basically if it’s Talking Dead for Thrones I’ll watch. :)
