Russell Crowe to Host SNL

Saturday Night Live Taps Russell Crowe, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as April Hosts

Russell Crowe will make his Saturday Night Live hosting debut next month, NBC announced on Thursday. Additionally, Veep‘s Julia Louis-Dreyfus is set for her third SNL hosting stint.

Oscar-winner Crowe will preside over the April 9 telecast, with country artist Margo Price serving as musical guest. Louis-Dreyfus, meanwhile, will headline the April 16 installment alongside musical guest Nick Jonas (marking his first solo appearance).

Louis-Dreyfus, who was an SNL cast member from 1982-85, last hosted the program in 2007.

Peter Dinklage kicks off SNL‘s run of April originals this Saturday. Gwen Stefani will be musical guest.

Should be entertaining for Russell Crowe’s SNL debut. Also, so excited to see Julia Louis-Dreyfus back on the show for the first time in nine years.

I’m very tired of the same hosts season after season…and they’re all from movies, why? If this show were to run while regular TV show weren’t filming, they could use stars from those shows and then they might be funnier.

    • Mr. Tran K says:

Someday people should give up watching SNL the same way they quit tuning in to The Price is Right (CBS).

      • Eric says:

Off topic, but why do you always hate on Price Is Right so much?

        • Mr. Tran K says:

Go complain to your mama. Really don’t know how long TPIR will end just because we’re totally stuck with the man who’s always been a poor replacement for Bob Barker – Drew Carey. None of your business Eric and don’t make me go all Game of Thrones on you.

        • Mr. Tran K says:

BTW Eric, you better go to the Price is Right Facebook page to find out what people are commenting about the show whether they hated it or not. Don’t make me become totally unbiased.

    • Timmah says:

Better yet, if they had decent writers or funny people in the cast it might be funnier.

I can only conclude that Lorne Michaels knows where bodies are buried. Otherwise, why is this show still on?

It’seems about time! Russell is going to kill it. We’ve been waiting years to see Russell host SNL. SO looking forward to this.
