Rachel Bloom, Colbert Prove 'Anything Can Be a Musical' on The Late Show

Musicals don’t just happen — unless you’re with Rachel Bloom.

The Crazy Ex-Girlfriend star appeared on The Late Show Tuesday, and within moments had Stephen Colbert crooning about his musical-theater ineptitude.

The Golden Globe winner’s attempt to explain how songs fit into narrative storytelling quickly veered into self-deprecating territory as she taunted herself about an alleged weight gain in the wake of receiving her first major award.

I thought this was very funny! I wish more people would watch Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, it’s so good.

  2. Alicia says:

I adore Rachel! She’s just so talented and funny, and beautiful, too! I think I have a girl-crush on her, but I don’t want to lock her in the basement and steal her identity. That would be crazy:-)

  3. LT says:

    This girl is amazing.

I think Crazy Ex-girlfriend is genius but the title was off putting and it isn’t a show you can easily jump into mid season IMO due to the serialisation of the relationships. The characters have all changed and grown a lot since that opening. Very cleverly written with genuinely hilarious musical numbers. Well done the CW for taking a chance on it for another year

This was fun! Like some of the other commenters, I was put off at first by the show, but I’ve started watching and enjoying it again.
