Supergirl Wonder Woman

Supergirl EPs Have 'Perfect Role' in Mind for Wonder Woman's Lynda Carter

Wonder Woman — or at least the actress who played her on TV from 1975 to 1979 — could be on her way to National City.

Following a screening of Supergirl‘s upcoming crossover episode with The Flash, executive producer Greg Berlanti told reporters that he had a “perfect role” in mind for Lynda Carter, but they “couldn’t work out her schedule.” He called it the “biggest disappointment for me this entire season.”

Despite the CBS drama’s lack of a Season 2 renewal, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg added, “We’ll just do it next year.”

But don’t expect Carter to show up in Diane Prince’s iconic duds; Berlanti, possibly joking, said the role would be the “female president of the United States.”

Do you hope to see Carter share the screen with Melissa Benoist and the rest of the Supergirl team? Drop a comment with your thoughts below.

  1. Mary says:

Sure. I was hoping at the start of this season that they might be able to have Lynda appear in an episode since they can’t actually have Wonder Woman appear.

  2. Bleu Feenix says:

Oh absolutely!!!! It’s so awesome seeing all these iconic stars making appearances on this show! And honestly, how long is it taking CBS to renew Supergirl for Season 2 already? Are they waiting for the Supergirl & Flash crossover ep to happen before they make an announcement?

  3. Mr. Tran K says:

Would be great whether Lynda Carter makes a potential recurring or guest starring role on Supergirl if the series gets renewed for a second season by CBS. Grew up watching reruns of the original Wonder Woman TV series and those were fond memories.

  4. Brian says:

Will always have mad love for Lynda Carter.

  5. Summer says:

Too bad she can’t just be President Diana Prince.

  6. Mysteri says:

Personally, they should cast her as Queen Hippolyta and bring in Donna Troy! Supergirl totally needs a fellow heroic gal pal!

  7. Ms Thang says:

CBS needs to renew Supergirl for a second season. Lynda Carter, all the whole world is wsiting for you!

  8. Phoenix5634 says:

Who else wonders if they delayed it for next season, so an iconic actor would play the role as a female president in front of millions of viewers, just in time for the general election….

    • IRON WILL says:

Unless of course they COULD make her an evil President who is a lying duplicitous megalomaniac who pushes the Cadmus project etc as a season-long villain! Who knows…

SIDE-NOTE: LC also did ONE episode of Smallville as Chloe Sullivan’s mother and Principle in Superhero Disney movie Sky High. She is the Grand Dame of comic book actresses!

    • Simon Jester says:

So, even though Lynda Carter has been doing a concert tour all season, and the scheduling confluct is EXPLICITLY STATED in the interview, you think it’s a political conspiracy? LOL, okay.

      • Phoenix5634 says:

Why so quick to believe exactly what your told? If it were political…I’m going to call it in inception, then they arnt just going to tell you so. And scheduling conflict could go more than one way, sure it might have been a bad time for her cuz she’s busy, but how big could her role really be that she couldn’t show up for a day or two?, it could be a scheduling conflict for both her, and the political interest.

        • Matt Webb Mitovich says:

So… since the EP was answering a random question about Lynda Carter, if there is some alleged “political” conflict, why go to the lengths of talking up the great role you have/had in mind for her? Why not simply say, “No plans at this time,” “We haven’t explored that yet” or the like?

        • Simon Jester says:

Because of a thing called ‘Occam’s Razor.’ Google it.

          • Phoenix5634 says:

Interesting strategy. Now ur turn. Try giving ‘Hickam’s Dictum’ a Google search.

Just curious what exactly do you guys think I’m implying?

          • Phoenix5634 says:

evidence there’s some political interest beneath he surface, the crossover snuck in a shot at Bernie Sanders. Plus this. I highly doubt both are coincidences.

  9. Ninamags says:

    THE Wonder Woman.

    Now and forever!

  10. Luis says:

    Please, please, please, please, please

  11. Ava says:

I think Linda Carter would be a perfect choice to play Sarah Michelle Gellar’s mother in Cruel Intentions.

  12. Phun says:

Lynda Carter on Supergirl would be so awesome. Two female tv Superhero actresses together on screen like that (Melissa and Lynda). CBS just needs to confirm a season 2! What is taking them so long!!!

  13. Simon Jester says:

    She still looks amazing.

  14. Ian Barber says:

This is such a cool idea. I really hope it happens!

  15. Wa Johnson says:

    Let the Program continue.

  16. Leo says:

Will be fun to see how the writers us her. The next big question is what will she wear. Ha.

  17. Peggy says:

Carter would be perfect! Super girl is a good show!

  19. fredrod says:

Why? Bring in some new faces not old ones. I love Lynda Carter but she’s a and I hate to say it a has been and never could really act that good.
I probably won’t watch Supergirl anyways so I guess it doesn’t matter. Good luck.
