Larry Sanders Show HBO

Garry Shandling's Larry Sanders Show Coming to HBO, Streaming Services

Fans looking to honor the late Garry Shandling, who passed away Thursday, will soon have the perfect venue to do so.

TVLine has confirmed that reruns of The Larry Sanders Show, which ran from 1992 to 1998, will return to HBO and will be available on the network’s streaming services soon, per a deal series creator/star Shandling completed before his death.

Larry Sanders starred Shandling as a late-night talk show host, Rip Torn as his assistant and Jeffrey Tambor as the show’s producer; additional regulars included Janeane Garofalo, Jeremy Piven and Bob Odenkirk.

On Larry Sanders, Shandling was a five-time Emmy Award nominee for Lead Actor, and he grabbed gold once (with Peter Tolan) for Outstanding Writing.

The Wrap was the first to report this news.

The Larry Sanders Show was must-see TV back in the day and could probably do well today. I think Rip Torn was the producer and Jeffrey Tambor was the assistant though. Great show. He will be missed.

What a great way to introduce new generations of viewers to the brilliant comedy of Garry Shandling! When I sign up for HBO when GoT premieres, I can rewatch this show!

Jeffery was an on air sidekick, not the show’s producer….and Rip Torn was a producer or maybe he was Larry’s agent. (It’s been a while since I’ve seen it.) I hope the rest of the article is correct, I’d love to go back and watch The Larry Sanders Show again. There were some talented people on that show. Tons of guest stars who went on to do great things.

Rip Torn was the producer (not his assistant), Jeffrey Tambor was the sidekick (not the producer).

I was lucky to find a complete “Larry Sanders” DVD in K-mart (of all places) a few years ago. Arguably the best of HBO’s all-time comedies.

Whoever wrote this obviously never saw The Larry Sanders Show! Rip Torn was his agent/ manager; Jeffrey Tambor was his announcer/side-kick! Omg! Do your research or don’t write it!! This is a total slap to Garry’s memory!! Disgusting!!!!
