Channing Tatum Dance Show

Channing Tatum, Jenna Dewan Tatum Bringing Dance Competition to NBC

If you obsessed over Channing Tatum‘s recent face-off against wife Jenna Dewan Tatum on Lip Sync Battle, you’re definitely going to want to keep reading.

The A-listers, who met while starring in the 2006 dance film Step Up, will executive-produce and appear in an upcoming dance competition series on NBC, per The Hollywood Reporter. Dewan Tatum is will serve as a regular judge/mentor, while her husband will make occasional visits.

NBC has given a six-episode pickup to the series, which is said to put a “fresh” spin on the (some might say tired) dance competition genre.

Dewan Tatum, who previously starred on Lifetime’s short-lived Witches of East End, currently recurs on CBS’ Supergirl. Tatum’s work has largely been on the big screen, save for occasional guest spots on shows like Fox’s The Simpsons and Comedy Central’s Idiotsitter.

Will you accept NBC’s invitation to dance with the Tatums? Drop a comment with your thoughts on the series below.

Jenna is a gorgeous dancer, who was also a great guest judge and performer on “So You Think You Can Dance?”! And she and Channing were refreshingly down-to-earth on “Lip Sync Battle.” I would definitely check out this show, especially in an initial limited 6-week run. Perfect number of episodes to get a true sampling of whether it deserves a full season order. :-)

  2. Jason Paul says:

Woo hoo! Still in mourning over the loss of ABDC and (adult) SYTYCD.

  3. I have the feeling FOX stepped in it with their upcoming “kids” SYTYCD. Props to NBC for taking advantage. Enjoyed Jenna as judge on SYTYCD; looking forward to checking this out!

  4. jakis says:

Let’s hope they bring Channing’s Magic Mike costar Twitch on to be a mentor/choreographer/whatever.

  5. Jenks says:

I’m absolutely there. Count me among those who are deeply disappointed in the utterly awful kiddie concept for this season of SYTYCD. Maybe this will fill the dancing show void. Love the idea of tWitch joining up. We can hope!

  6. Ellen says:

    When is the start date?

  7. robandco says:

I had no idea until that point that Lucy Lane was married to Channing Tatum!

  8. Sally Mander says:

I had no idea she was an A-lister.

  9. HAP says:

“A fresh spin on the dance competition genre?” They gonna have amputees?

  10. Lindsey says:

I have always loved Channing and Jenna Tatum, and have been fans of them since Step Up. I have followed their careers, and ABSOLUTELY LOVED their performances on Lip Sync Battle, especially Jenna’s. I CAN’T WAIT for their new show!!!

  11. Susan says:

I would love them dancing together. I loved them in step up. Bring it on.
