Julie Benz CBS Pilot

Julie Benz Joins CBS' Training Day Pilot

Be forewarned, fans of Hawaii Five-0‘s Chin/Abby romance — Julie Benz has got a brand-new bag, on CBS’ Training Day pilot.

Penned by Castle vet Will Beall and picking up 15 years after the Denzel Washington/Ethan Hawke movie, the drama pilot centers on an idealistic young African-American police officer who is appointed to the LAPD’s elite Special Investigation Section (S.I.S.), where he is partnered with Frank Rourke, a seasoned, morally ambiguous detective (to be played by Big Love‘s Bill Paxton).

Per our sister site Deadline, Benz will play Holly McCabe, an unapologetic Hollywood madam who takes pride in how well she treats her girls — and who is in a relationship with Detective Rourke.

The Training Day cast also includes Pretty Little Liars‘ Drew Van Acker and Arrow‘s Katrina Law.

Benz’s previous TV credits also include Defiance, Dexter, A Gifted Man, No Ordinary Family and Desperate Housewives.

bill paxton playing a morally ambiguous who dates a madame
just like his character in a miami vice season 3 episode

  2. Annie says:

Where Julie goes I follow. Been a fan of hers since Buffy. I sat through two horrible seasons of Defiance for her (two, because season 1 was actually pretty good)

  3. tvjunkie says:

She just got finished playing a madam (among other things) on Defiance. I guess she’s likes playing such a character.
