Jordana Brewster Joins Lethal Weapon Pilot as 'No-Nonsense' Therapist

Jordana Brewster‘s next small-screen gig will require her to think fast — while trying not to get furious.

The Dallas alumna is joining Fox’s Lethal Weapon pilot, TVLine has learned, playing a “no nonsense” hostage negotiator named Maureen “Mo” Cahill. Additionally, Cahill serves as an in-house therapist for the LAPD, helping officers cope with job-related trauma.

Best known for her work in the Fast and Furious films, Brewster also has an extensive small-screen résume. After getting her start on CBS’ As the World Turns, Brewster proceeded to recur on NBC’s Chuck and FX’s American Crime Story and the upcoming season of ABC’s Secrets and Lies. She also played engineer Elena Ramos on TNT’s Dallas revival for three seasons.

She joins previously announced cast members Damon Wayans, Sr. (as Roger Murtaugh) and Golden Brooks (as Trish Murtaugh).

Lethal Weapon, an adaptation of the 1987 Mel Gibson/Danny Glover action film, is being written by Matt Miller and directed by McG, both of whom will executive-produce along with Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz.

I’ve loved her since ATWT. I’m glad they’re doing the show, because I can’t re-watch the movies any more thanks to Mel Gibson turning out to be complete scum.
