Georgina Haig CW Pilot Mars

Fringe's Georgina Haig Heads to Mars as Lead on CW Drama Pilot

Not even Georgina Haig‘s trip to Fringe‘s future could’ve prepared her for the journey she’s about to take.

The Aussie actress has nabbed a leading role in The CW’s Mars-set drama pilot.

The untitled project follows an explorer team that arrives on Mars to join its first human colony, only to discover that their predecessors have vanished. Led by a woman whose husband is among the missing, the colonists are forced to change their mission from exploration and settlement to investigation and survival, all while navigating the hostile planet and their own personal demons.

Per our sister site Deadline, Haig will co-star as Gina Nolan, the mission’s intense, motivated and intelligent botanist. A true explorer at heart, Gina believes it is mankind’s destiny to investigate the universe, but she must prove herself before she can become a Mars colonist.

Haig — who has also held roles on Once Upon a TimeLimitless and Reckless — joins a cast that includes Neal Bledsoe (The Mysteries of Laura), Mouzam Makkar (The Vampire Diaries) and Carl Beukes (Dominion).

Welp I guess I’m adding this to my watch list.

  2. James D says:

All I needed to hear. I love Georgina the show being about Mars is just gravy.

  3. Kate says:

This gives me actually great hope that the 100 isn’t going anywhere as it seems to be inspiring the CW’s new show orders. My only pause is that is Limitless has more story to tell, her character seemed the way to get to it. I’m not particularly worried about her never appearing on OUAT again because Elsa seems to be the only friend with no baggage that Emma has and given that Rose McIver appears able to show up at least for the 100th episode since iZombie is right there….

    • Vince says:

iZombie films in Vancouver like OUAT. Mars shows films in Albuquerque so that’s doubtful. T100 is following CW’s shows 4 season and done trajectory. No point in dragging a heavily serialized show that won’t get syndicated.

  4. Bee says:

    Sounds like Roanoke on Mars.

  5. Riana says:

    Elsa on Mars?

  6. Joey Padron says:

Happy she’s gonna be on TV more!

  7. Lysh says:

I love Mars. I love Georgina. Sounds fun.

  8. Hopefully she finds the time to return to Limitless for at least one episode – maybe two episodes. Enjoyed her character on that show.

“Led by a woman whose husband is among the missing…” – such a cliche.
