Wayward Pines Season 2 Carla Gugino Return

Wayward Pines: Carla Gugino to Return to Fox Drama for Season 2 Encore

Look who’s (maybe?) been defrosted.

Carla Gugino will return to Fox’s Wayward Pines for Season 2, TVLine has confirmed.

Fans of the Fox drama will recall that Gugino’s character, former federal agent Kate, was cryogenically frozen by the First Generation brats during the season-ending three-year time jump.

On Wednesday, the actress posted a photo of herself on the series’ Vancouver set.

Gugino likely will appear on Wayward Pines in a limited capacity, given she recently booked a series regular role on Showtime’s Cameron Crowe rock drama Roadies.

Season 2 of Fox’s adaptation of the Blake Crouch novels will pick up where Season 1 left off, when a new arrival in the titular Idaho town finds himself in the middle of a serious rebellion, as the residents, led by the First Generation, battle over how to preserve the endangered human race. Jason Patric (The Lost Boys) and Djimon Hounsou (Amistad) also will be part of the Season 2 cast.

Nice surprise she’s coming back to the show! Can’t wait for season 2!

Such a shame they feel the need to invent this whole “2nd Gen” thing when there’s a whole world of books with better material they could draw from. I was hoping this casting announcement meant they had decided to go with a prequel to last season. I’d much rather see seasons that focused on early arrivals and building the resistance, Hassler’s story, or even the times they unfroze other Pope alternatives who ultimately failed. The series introduced me to the whole world contained in the books, and as always, the books are better. But they also provide so much unexplored material that could serve a springboards for limited seasons.

I just binge watched the whole 1st season of Wayward Pines.

What a great show. Luckily I don’t have to wait long for the 2nd season.

And yes I hope Carla comes back. I also hope Ben Burke comes back.
