Matt Lanter Time

Pilot News: Matt Lanter Finds Time, Once Vet Lands Kicker and More

Matt Lanter is going on a journey through Time.

The 90210 actor will star opposite Abigail Spencer (Rectify, Suits) in NBC’s time-travel-themed sci-fi drama, our sister site Deadline reports.

Hailing from The Shield’s Shawn Ryan and Supernatural‘s Eric Kripke, Time follows an unlikely trio who travel through time to battle a master criminal intent on altering the fabric of human history with potentially catastrophic results.

In other pilot news via Deadline:

* Joanna Garcia Swisher (Once Upon a Time, The Astronaut Wives Club) has joined CBS’ multi-camera comedy The Kicker, starring Geoff Stults (Enlisted) and David Spade (Rules of Engagement). She will portray Bambi, a physical therapist to pro athletes who is married to Stults’ oddball athlete.

* Kyle Bornheimer is bouncing back from Angel From Hell‘s cancellation with a role in the Fox comedy Charity Case, playing the stepson of Courteney Cox’s character.

  1. Mr. Tran K says:

Really hope TIME gets picked up as a series for NBC now that they’ve cast Matt Lanter. Hope his new TV gig should bounce back after his last show Star Crossed (over on The CW) got cancelled.

  2. lrdslvrhnd says:

I was already there for The Kicker because of Geoff Stultz. Joanna Garcia Swisher is just icing on the cake! (Although David “I should be” Spade makes said icing… I dunno, coconut-flavored.) But really, ignoring her seasons-long costarring role in “Reba” is just insulting.
Also, Time continues to intrigue me.

  3. Jay says:

Time could almost be a reboot of sorts of the old series Time Tunnel. Anyone remember that one?

  4. Sammy says:

Matt Lanter is not very good. He needs major acting lessons.

  5. Gerri says:

I’m in for Time. It sounds like Legends of Tomorrow, but I think that show is so poorly executed and acted (Other than Wentworth and Victor). I trust in Kripke and Ryan to pull off “Time” and Love Spenser and Lanter. Good choices.

  6. EM chicago says:

Not the biggest Matt Lanter fan but I’m glad he won’t be playing a high school student again. Perhaps I will give him another chance
