Kimmel Oscars Special: Broderick, Lane Get 'Trumped' in Producers Sequel

The Jimmy Kimmel Live: After the Oscars special featured a sequel to The Producers — and it looks like it’s going to be huuuuge.

Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick reprised their roles as Max Bialystock and Leo Bloom in Trumped, a follow-up to the 2005 musical-comedy that reimagines the show-stopping duo as political consultants responsible for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Cloris Leachman is also featured as a gullible donor in the story “that starts off funny, then gets really, really depressing” once the “gold-plated nincompoop” defies all odds and comes out on top.

  1. Wordsmith says:

The comparison to the Producers’ plot is eerily appropriate. Whatever your opinions on his politics, you have to admit he says a lot of zany things that would get pretty much anybody else laughed out of the race, yet only seem to make him more popular. Points for cleverness.

  2. Care says:

    That was genius!

  3. dman6015 says:

It’d be funny if it weren’t so true!

  4. The Beach says:

Wow! As a fan of The Producers, that was brilliant…so well done!

  5. Zoe says:

Perfect! Broderick was kinda wooden but that’s my only complaint.

  6. Yaines says:

Jesus, that’d be funny if it wasn’t so goddamn scarily accurate…
