In the near future, VH1 will invite you to take a little time to enjoy the meow.
The cable network has ordered Satan’s Sisters, a scripted series based on Star Jones’ 2011 roman à clef of the same name.
The hour-long drama follows the five female hosts of The Lunch Hour, “a long-running, popular ladies’ talk show in which alliances are forged, careers are made, and bridges are burned,” according to the official release. (Sound familiar?)
The five co-hosts seem like they’re besties when they’re on the air, but Satan’s Sisters will reveal the “power struggles, personal demons, diva fits, love affairs, man troubles, cat fights… and cocktails” that take place behind the scenes.
Jones, a lawyer and former legal analyst, was one of the original co-hosts of ABC’s The View. She sat at the table for nine seasons, until her contract wasn’t renewed in 2006; her departure from the chatfest was, to put it mildly, contentious.
Josh Berman (Drop Dead Diva), among others, will executive-produce the series alongside Jones, Amy Engelberg, Wendy Engelberg and Sony Pictures Television; the Engelbergs also will write the series.
Satan’s Sisters is slated for a 2017 debut.
