Wayward Pines Djimon Hounsou

Wayward Pines Season 2 Adds Djimon Hounsou

I’m feeling more and more reassured that Season 2 of Wayward Pines won’t be overpopulated by First Generation brats.

On the heels of film vet Jason Patric being announced as the sophomore run’s first new cast member, our sister site Deadline reports that two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou is also on board.

Season 2 of Fox’s adaptation of the Blake Crouch novels will pick up where Season 1 left off, when a new arrival in the titular Idaho town finds himself in the middle of a serious rebellion, as the residents, led by the First Generation, battle over how to preserve the endangered human race.

Patric will play said newcomer — Dr. Theo Yedlin, a driven surgeon — while Hounsou has been cast as CJ Mitchum, a philosophical town historian who will make a decision that impacts the fate of Wayward Pines and its denizens.

Hounsou’s previous TV credits include ER and a recurring run on Alias as Covenant member Kazari Bomani.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

So glad we’re getting a 2nd season of Wayward Pines. Great premise, looking forward to it.

How great is this cast looking? I can’t wait to see who else is in. Djimon is such a wonderful actor and strong presence. And Patric is simply one of the best actors we have. I just hope that the story can continue to thrill and not just rely on last years creepiness and shock

  3. A surgeon is interesting because it implies that the First Gen will need to thaw him out for some sort of medical necessity.

  4. pleased that there will be a season 2! the first season was ace
