Josh Bowman Time After Time Pilot Cast

Revenge's Josh Bowman Nabs Deadly Role in ABC's Time After Time Pilot

A Revenge ladykiller has just been cast as a notorious lady killer.

Josh Bowman will portray Jack the Ripper in Kevin Williamson’s new ABC pilot Time After Time, our sister site Deadline reports.

Jack also is the nemesis of H.G. Wells, the drama’s protagonist, played by UnREAL‘s Freddie Stroma.

Using the book by Karl Alexander (as well as the 1979 film) as a “starting point,” the prospective Warner Bros. TV drama will chronicle the epic adventures of young H.G. Wells and his Time Machine.

Bowman’s character, John Stevenson, is a clever, charismatic surgeon who moonlights as the legendary Whitechapel serial killer.

Yes Please!….I hope these beautiful men (Freddie & Josh) get to use their natural British accents in the show…that will be the icing on the cake

Most of us can’t understand British accents without the sub titles so please make them speak the way the show’s viewers speak. I’ve had to turn off several good PBS British shows for this reason. Downton Abbey was different because they all spoke upper class which is slow and distinctive and understandable for the most part. I left Agent Carter after three episodes because I just couldn’t make her words out at all.

No, “most of us” do not have problems understanding British accents, and there’s no need for JACK THE RIPPER of all people to have an American accent just because SOME viewers can’t understand accents different than their own.

He is a bland cookie cutter type of bloke with zero charisma.

  3. Belle says:

British men who have to talk without their accents often (not always, Hugh Laurie is one exception) come across “fake” or personality-less…I say let them be themselves and don’t force them to speak in an “American” accent. Josh is quite a charmer with his natural voice :)

More shows glamorizing the murder of women from ABC, great! I guess Wicked City tanking wasn’t enough.
