Taylor Swift Grammys 2016

Taylor Swift Opens Grammy Awards 2016 — Grade Her Performance

Taylor Swift‘s return to the Grammys on Monday was preceded by a flurry of speculation: Would her performance include a subtle response to Kanye West’s “Famous” dig? And which random human might she invite to the stage?!

As it turns out, both of those questions were irrelevant. Swift, clad in a sparkly blue jumpsuit, kicked things off with an appropriately breathy performance of “Out of the Woods,” which transitioned into a triumphant march through the audience.

Of course, Swift could have fallen flat on her face and she still would have had a killer night. She won two Grammys before she even took the stage: Best Pop Vocal Album for 1989 and Best Music Video for “Bad Blood.”

Your thoughts on Swift’s big opener? Watch and grade her performance below, then drop a comment with your full review.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

BORING! So disappointed…that could have been anyone, anywhere.

  2. A says:

To me it sounded like the music was to high. Drowning out the vocals.

    • Tee says:

In the handful of times I’ve seen her perform live on TV, it seems that her live vocals are terrible; so, consider yourself lucky. How she continues to make a career out of performing is beyond me. Those tweens, man…they keep this girl in business, I guess.

      • Ryan says:

Amen! My family adores her and always says “she’s so much better than she used to be”. That’s great, but doesn’t mean she can sing. She’s a great entertainer. She did her best blue steel faces all night. But she can not sing.

        • iceblast says:

There is overwhelming proof online that Taylor can sing. She’s one of the few artists that will sing with just a guitar by herself.

  3. Guilherme says:

Love her but was a forgettable performance.

  4. When she missed the big note tho… Like, sis, it’s cool if you cannot hit that note live when you’re nervous, but plan for it and sing it a little lower.

  5. Christine says:

She takes herself so seriously. I think she has a hard time accepting what she actually is; which is a mediocre singer

  6. N.Young says:

The beautiful ,and talented, Taylor Swift, knocked it right out of park!!!
