Mark-Paul Gosselaar Joins Fox's Baseball-Themed Drama Pilot Pitch

Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Franklin & Bash) is stepping up to the plate as the male lead in the Fox pilot Pitch.

The baseball drama from Dan Fogelman (Galavant) and Mark Singer stars Kylie Bunbury (Twisted) as Ginny, the first female pitcher hired by the major leagues.

Per our sister site Deadline, Gosselaar will play ladies’ man Mike Lawson, a future Hall of Fame catcher who shares an undeniable spark with Ginny despite his skepticism regarding her hire.

Gosselaar, best known for his iconic role as Zack Morris in ’90s teen comedy Saved by the Bell, most recently starred in NBC’s one-and-done sitcom Truth Be Told. His previous drama credits include NYPD Blue and Raising the Bar.

Really hoping this one is a home run for him. Loved him on Franklin & Bash. He has good comedic chops.

  4. Jake says:

It will fail, sports themed shows rarely make it.
