Watts happening at Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival.
No, that’s not a typo — two-time Oscar nominee Naomi Watts has reportedly boarded David Lynch’s continuation of the ’90s cult fave, according to our sister site Deadline.
The move would reteam Watts with Lynch, who cast her in her breakout role in Mulholland Dr.
What’s more, Tom Sizemore and Lynch himself are reported to be part of the series, with the latter reprising the role of FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole.
They join a growing Twin Peaks ensemble that includes series vets Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee and Sherilyn Fenn, as well as newcomers Laura Dern, Robert Knepper, Balthazar Getty and Amanda Seyfried. (To date, the only piece of casting Showtime has officially confirmed is MacLachlan).
Lynch and fellow co-creator Mark Frost have penned all episodes of the present-day revival — which is rumored to total more than a dozen episodes — with Lynch directing every installment. Filming is currently underway in Washington state ahead of a debut in ‘early 2017.’
