Rocky Horror Casts Masters of Sex Fave Annaleigh Ashford as Columbia

Annaleigh Ashford is set to master another sexy character (if you’ll pardon the pun).

The Masters of Sex star has been cast as Columbia, the castle’s feisty live-in groupie, in Fox’s upcoming remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Ashford won a Tony award last year for her role in You Can’t Take It With You.

She joins previously announced cast members Laverne Cox (Orange is the New Black) as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Victoria Justice (Victorious) as Janet, Ryan McCartan (Heathers: the Musical) as Brad, Adam Lambert (Glee, American Idol) as Eddie, Reeve Carney (Penny Dreadful) as Riff Raff, Staz Nair (Game of Thrones) as Rocky; and Tim Curry (the original Rocky Horror) as the Criminologist Narrator.

Fox’s two-hour Rocky Horror is slated to air this fall, and will reimagine the cult-classic musical comedy, which was released in theaters 40 years ago and has spawned regular midnight singalong screenings and a Broadway spinoff in the ensuing decades.

Tim Curry was Frank-N-Furter, not Rocky.

I think it’s just saying he was in the original Rocky Horror, like it says things they were in next to the other people’s names. But since it’s not italicized like the others it does seem kind of confusing.

The BBC just aired it’s 40th anniversary show and it was SO much fun! I can hardly wait to see how the Americans do it.
